For my layout today, I wanted to steer away from plain white American Crafts cardstock or a patterned paper. I really wanted to use the brand spankin’ new Paige Evans Take Me Away collection with Pink Paislee so I decided to compliment it with starting with lavender American Crafts cardstock from my stash.
I added some gorgeous Shimmerz Dazzlerz in Licorice using an older Amy Tangerine stencil and just love the contrast!! I added a thin layer so it would dry faster. Then I had the idea to use my Kaisercraft metal dies as a stitching template. I positioned my metal heart die around my layout in three spots and used my paper poker to poke the holes for my hand stitching. It really didn’t take that long with stitch the hearts as they weren’t very big and I only used white embroidery thread. I added the two shades of grey Heart Felties in a few areas around my layout, especially nearby and touching the stitched hearts. I love to have similar embellishments touch and overlap. I feel it’s very interesting in a layout.
Another one my favorite things to do so that I don’t waste any Shimmerz products is use the stencil as a stamp after I’ve used it as a stencil. Hang in there and follow what I’m sayin’!! After I used my Amy Tangerine triangle stencil to create the black triangles shown above, there is still some Dazzlerz leftover on my stencil, right? So, instead of just wiping it off, I turned the stencil over and stamp that leftover Dazzlerz down right onto the bottom right corner of my layout. It leaves a pretty cool effect!!
I’m so grateful you stopped by today!! I hope you’ve enjoyed my layout, featuring some fabulous Heart Felties!! Be sure to leave a comment on all the blogs today and throughout the weekend! There’s another chance everyday this weekend to win another $10 shop credit!!
Now, you’re on to the amazing Missy Whidden!! Enjoy her beautiful work my friends!

I love using black texture paste as a mat under my photo. Makes a great start/base to a grunge or masculine lo.
