1st Day of School with Cocoa Vanilla Studio

So fess up!!! How did all you Mama’s out there do sending yoir kids off to the 1st day of school? Sniff sniff.. I was proud of myself and held back my happy/proud/sad tears until they were walking into school. They couldn’t see my wet face peaking out from behind my big sunglasses, thank goodness!! For me, this day is always bittersweet. I always love the structure of school time and the extra time I have with just Abby. Next year she’ll start 4K so this year I just want to soak up & cherish every minute with her, my last baby… Sigh… When they left I hung out with Abby & scrapped with a great friend, sharing some much needed laughs. Thanks Michelle!! ❤️

To kick off this school year I created this layout with lots of Cocoa Vanilla, some Shimmerz Dazzlerz Texture Paste in Foiled Again, layered doilies and Cork-Fetti Hearts. All of which I totally LOVE!!! I grabbed the Cocoa Vanilla papers and ephemera over at My Scraps & More last month in case you’re wondering where to get these lovely papers.    As you can see in the photos above and below I distressed and curled up the edges of a few of the Cocoa Vanilla paper. If you’d like to check out my water distressing technique you can watch my YouTube video HERE. It’s super easy & looks awesome!

Another one of my new favorites is using Shimmerz Paints texture paste. It’s so smooth & just beautiful. To add even more texture and some dimension, I added these fun corrugated cardboard butterflies from Jillibean Soup and popped up a few pieces of the ephemera with my favorite foam adhesive from Scrapbook Adhesives By 3L. Here are a some close ups. Both are easy to do and give your layout much more impact!     Thanks so much for spending your time with me today! See you soon with another video & giveaway!
