Stretching your papers with cut files!

Hey everyone! Jody here today with a layout created about some of my favorite people, papers & a cut file.  There’s no doubt that pink & aqua is one of my all time favorite color combos.  I think for me, that particular color combination represents our daughters and my husband. I love the compliment and the contrast of those colors together, just like I love how our daughters and my husband interact together. In many ways, life and scrapbooking seem to come full circle. That’s just one of the many things I love about this hobby.

For today’s layout, I used some of the beautiful papers from the Pink Paislee line, Fancy Free.  All of these Fancy Free supplies have been highly coveted by most this spring and have been very hard to find. I could only get my hands on a limited amount of the embellishments and I only have a one of the 12×12″ paper pads left in stock in the shop. It’s at a great price point to only $11.00!!

Because the embellishments have been so hard to find I have been looking for more ways to stretch the papers and utilize the papers and more creative ways to get more out of the collection. One perfect way to do this is by using cut files. There are so many out there and you can find quite a few free ones as well. Below are a few website links that will take you to some free cut files from some a fabulous designers.

The free cut file I use today is actually from The Cut Shoppe! It’s called Love Everlasting and containing 4 cut files!! You can find it HERE where The Cut Shoppe teamed up with Citrus Twist Kits.

For my layout, I cut the butterfly with my Silhouette Portrait electronic cutting machine and used vellum. I changed the cut setting down to three in the vellum cut very nicely. I kept the remainder of the layout relatively simple adding a mixture of Thickers, Webster’s Pages and Simple Stories out the stickers to create my title. Mixing up your alphabet stickers is the perfect way to not only use up your stash but make your layout more fun and interesting. For the finishing touches I used some teal and pink Felt-Fetti hearts and the Gold Sweetheart confetti sequins.

I hope you enjoyed today’s layout! Now grab some papers, download some cut files & get creating!

** A note about cut files. Many are able to printed and cut out as well. The Cut Shoppe & Clique Kits also sells pre-cut files. Please follow the designers tips for doing so.
