Christmas Tradition with Ali

Happy December! I love December and gearing up for Christmas. But I have a confession…I don’t do December Daily! Honestly, I just know I wouldn’t finish it, so why start? But that doesn’t mean I don’t want to document those memories and traditions…so I created this layout (and I will probably mimic one like this year after year) to remember some of the holiday traditions our family enjoys- like baking cookies, making gingerbread houses, and picking  a new ornament each year!

So this month we are challenging ourselves to use those tools! I picked my sewing machine, because I love the way little pockets look sewn up with some sequins inside!

I used vellum to cover the areas my photos weren’t going to be, and then I dumped a whole bunch of holiday sequins underneath and sewed around the little pocket to hold them all in! More specifically I used Oh What Fun! and Happy Happy Winter because they are both so amazing and I fear running out of any of my mixes, so I try to use them as sparingly as possible..that is probably a little crazy, huh?

With a bit of journaling for each topic and a couple of embellishments here and there, my layout was complete! I just love how this turned out, it will be so fun to look back on each tradition and to see those gorgeous sequins shaking about!
