December Daily: Incorporating Everyday Ephemera with Crafty Meggy

Hello hello SMS fans!! I hope you are all having a wonderful Sunday! I am really excited about this days spread! I am about a week behind in making my pages and on this day I had some spare time in the morning to go get some breakfast at Starbucks. I was excited because I had so many ideas on how to incorporate the coffee cup holder thingy and the bag from my breakfast purchase.

day7-1footer

This is what the two page spread looks like. I got the idea from pinterest to make a sequin pocket page out of  a 6×8 page protector. I decided to include the hand holder thingy (I can’t remember for the life of me what they’re called) in the middle of the page. I used my We R Memory Keepers Fuse tool to divide each of the pockets.

day7-3

I liked the idea of having one big sequin pocket on the bottom. I used 3 different sequin mixes, Evergreen Bough, Holly Berries, and Holiday Traditions. I wanted the divider to be curved to kind of form with the coffee holder. It didn’t turn out as awesome as I had pictured, but it worked!

day7-4

I curved the divider at the top of the coffee holder and then divided that pocket into threes. By the time I did that I think my Fuse was getting too hot because it started to melt the top of the page protector. Ooops!

day7-5

On the right hand side I punched holes in bag and made a little mat to put on the inside of the bag with more photos. I used some older Simple Stories tile alphas for the title of the page and I glued the day number right next to the title.

day7-6

I cut out a little shape on the photo mat so when people are looking at the album they will know they can pull it up and out. I really love how that turned out!!

day7-2

This Is the mat with more photos and journaling about our day. I kept the embellishing super simple. I used the Chunky Cork Stars from the shop.

day7-7

I used an arrow sticker to point out where my son is in the photo. I love this one of him in mid clap.

day7-8

I included smaller photos so I could tell more stories about the day. This worked out even better than I thought it would! I’m always glad when that happens!

I really love that I was able to use the Starbucks bag and coffee holder to bring to life this memory on my layout. Using real life ephemera is always a fun part of scrapbooking!

I hope you’re having a great day! Make sure to check out the current sales going on in the Spiegelmom Scraps store!! Today’s discount is 40% off cardstock.
