UPcycling

Happy Saturday!  It’s time for a National Craft Month share.  This time it’s about upcycling items into your scrapbooking.  Did you ever notice how pretty the packaging is for Prima Flowers, My Minds Eye or Pink Paislee’s embellishments?  If you haven’t, you should!  It’s great way for us paper {hoaders} users to give back a little.  Here are couple recent layouts where I Upcycled some packaging and incorporated it into my designs.

First up, use the negative from chipboard embellishments.  Here I used the negative grid from some square alpha’s I had in my stash.  You could also use this grid as a mask for your spray inks and mists.  There’s also some corrugated cardboard, brushed with some white acrylic paint.  The cream tulle has been my little fabric bin for a long time I find that hot glue works best to adhere it.  Just watch your fingers!

This next layout uses the cardboard packaging from Prime Sculpted Flowers.  I cut it apart and used the top to ties some ribbons on and used the bottom as a background for my journaling.

With all these layouts so far I’m getting a great start on Abby’s first scrapbook!  Thanks for stopping by today and don’t forget to create something, really anything, this month and share it here for a chance to WIN!  Up for grabs is a Simple Stories Elementary Designer Cardstock kit and 2 matching stickers sets.
Please share your National Craft Month project under THIS post.  Use the comment section to post a link back to your blog or use the nifty InLinkz tool to upload your picture right to my blog post.
I can’t wait to see what you create this month!
