Minimalist Thursday – Hello Awesome
[HAPPY]
Sometimes layouts are the most impactful when comprised of a pretty photograph and a few embellishments. It’s like the eye can linger instead of searching and processing details all over the page.
I’m such a believer in minimalist projects, and so I’m excited to be sharing mine today! I think the colors in this layout perfectly capture this somewhere in between summer & fall time. The picture featured was actually taken in January – Bare trees make for really gorgeous silhouettes.
I started with a white cardstock background and used some periwinkle paint to define the space I would be using. I splattered a little bit of darker paint around to add interest. Once it dried, I layered a few random pieces of paper from my stash and some Halloween themed washi tape by American Crafts over it. I lined up my photo after I had my paper arranged so I would know how big I wanted my shaker pocket. I used my Fuse tool to create this shaker filled with the Autumn Joy sequin mix. [Side note: These mixes go so far, this is my third project with this mix and I’m still going]
I painted those wood veneer shapes by Jillibean Soup in a slightly darker color than the background. I just love how it contrasts with the oranges in the sequin mix!
To finish up, I stitched on a Night of Navy heart feltie and added a little cork star from the shop. When I include a large gathering of sequins together on a layout I always add another singular one (or two) somewhere else to help balance my page.
And without too much fuss my project is done! I really love how it turned out.
Thanks for reading, y’all!

Love it. I like the minimum sometimes too.
