Tackling Tricky Inserts with Sarah!
Hello, there, SMS fans! It’s Sarah on the blog today and I’m tackling a tricky topic! Pocket Life inserts. Today I’ll show you an insert I created for my Week 19 and I’ll show you some tricks and tips on how to make them rock! Here is my 6×12 insert that I photographed as a 12×12:
I started by cutting a WRMK 12×12 pocket page protector into a 6×12. Then I grabbed the leftover supplies that I used from my Week 19 spread, a bunch of goodies from the SM shop, and got to work!
I used some of the Pink Paislee Fancy Free, Jilibean Soup Healthy Hello, and Basic Grey Saturday Morning paper and ephemera. I stared by making the 3×4 card that says “Pure Love”. I tried make it match my title card from Week 19. I layered a piece of Large Glassine Bag under a piece of navy patterned paper. I then sewed in on with my sewing machine. I gave the 4×6 aqua card a heavy dose of Heidi Shine in Butter. I also used a fun Studio Calico Wood Veneer from the shop on the 3×4 picture.
I made another filler card and embellished it with the Magical Ocean Sequins. I layered on the ephemera and glued on some typed strips from the Pinkfresh Studio Felicity collection.
I made a fun accent card from the Fancy Free cut apart sheet. I stitched around it with my machine and gave it a few splatters of Heidi Shine in Butter and glued on a few Magical Ocean and Moonshine Delight Sequins. I also embellished the 3×4 picture in a similar manner as the other one by adding a Studio Calico Wood Veneer and similar embellishments to add balance to my insert.
I made a fun 3×4 pocket using a piece of patterned card stock and a small piece of bright pink vellum from my stash. I sewed it in place, filled it with extra ephemera and layered on a glitter Thicker from Pinkfresh Studios. I also made a embellishment cluster on a 4×6 picture to mimic ones that I made in my Week 19. This adds a sense of cohesiveness to the spread and insert. I used a couple of Cloudy Days Felties, added a die cut bird and once again added a few Magical Ocean Sequins. Using sequins is a fun and inexpensive way to replace enamel dots!
I hope you enjoyed my fun and quick insert for Week 19! Stayed tuned to the blog to see more from me this month!
