“Super” with Kira

Hey everyone!  It’s Kira and I am back with another 12×12 scrapbook layout!

I wanted to focus on the free cut files offered on the Spiegelmom Scraps website.  And the butterflies were calling my name.  I cut out multiple sizes and shapes from cardstock and vellum, hand stitched them and of course, added some sequins (I used Southern Blue Bells).  I have a full tutorial on how I made them here.

After I created the butterfly embellishments, I had no idea what to do.  Lol.  So I threw some sequins on my white background.  And it looked really cool.  It gave me this idea to have bursts of sequins coming from my photo.

I played off the idea by hand stitching some lines to contain the sequins in.  And then added some more textural elements by machine stitching down some rows and adding vellum to another row.

I added each of my butterfly embellishments to the stitched lines and adhered down my sequins.  I chose a simple title in teal glitter foam and also sprinkled some glitter foam stars in with the sequins as well.
