Make It Yours Monday~Celebrate Love

Happy Monday Scrappy friends and thanks so much for joining me for another Make It Yours Monday!! This week, we are being inspired by the awesome and amazingly talented Katty Miranda! I had a hard time choosing a layout to be inspired by, because I love her style!! In the end, I chose this beautiful and clean layout to highlight my photo with!

I just love how all the elements on the page bring your eye towards the most important part of the whole layout, the photo!

To begin, I trimmed down a piece of American Crafts white cardstock 1/4″ on each side. I splattered some Glorious Day Vibes and Night Moves Coloringz Shimmerz on the blank page before I did anything else! (I prefer to start with my splatters so I dont ruin a finished layout with some missed placed splatters!!!) After they were dry, I got out my 6×6 stencil, turned it sideways and used the corners to create the triangular sections of the page using the Gold Mine Texturez paste.

While the texture paste was drying, I mounted my photo on some black cardstock, tucked a 4″ doily I cut in half behind each side and then used a piece of vellum to finish the matting.

After everything was dry, I adhered the photo and title to the center of the layout. Next, the Black Tie Event sequin mix took center stage!! I sprinkled the beautiful glossy black and iridescent white sequins all over the page to give some more texture, sparkle and interest. I Love this mix, it’s SO versatile!!
