Make It Yours Monday~ Secrets…

Hi and Happy Monday!! I am so thrilled to be here today with my take on a layout by the super talented and sweet, Jen Schow!!! Her layouts are nothing short of brilliant and to choose just one was hard!! But, this is the one I chose and hope to have done some justice to it in my version!

For my take on this light and fun layout, I used some of the Sandy Stone Textures and a stencil to create an area to the lower right corner of a piece of American Crafts white cardstock, right around the area I know my photo will end up.  I also splattered some Shimmerz Glorious Day Vibez as well as some Well Blue Me Down Coloringz  I set this askide to dry and started on photo mats.

Just as Jen did on her layout, I used some plain white paper to create the mess base of my layers. I added a doily to the mix to bring in some added texture and then created the tightest mats around my photos with some lilac, blue glitter and pink papers from my scrap box. 

After all my mixed media was dry, I adhered the photo into place and then started having some fun with papers and embellishments!  I chose several papers from the Echo Park Let’s Be Mermaids collection to work with and tore them into strips. I added them to the top and bottom of my page and matted the whole layout on a piece of pink shell paper to keep the pink throughout the layout. 

I used some tiny tile stickers as well as a pink glitter thicker set to create my title. THEN, the SEQUINS!!! The Girly Glitter mix was all the perfect colors for this page, as well as the Intense Aqua, Powerful Pink and Mystical Purple shells!  I sprinkled them in a diagonal from the top left and let them trail off to the  bottom right corner. Some tiny cork stars confetti was the perfect finishing touch, to give the starfish vibe to this beachy mermaid layout!
