Make It Yours Monday~ I Love You Beyond the Stars…

Happy National Scrapbooking weekend hangover day! I know It was a crazy, fun and inspirational weekend. I hope you found some time to join us during our Instagram party!!

My layout today is from the very last challenge, given by Ali, was to make stars shine on your layout. SO, I grabbed a pack of Chunky Stars cork and Shooting cork stars and got to work!

I used a piece of star paper from an older Dear Lizzy collection. I trimmed it down and stitched it to a piece of slate grey cardstock.  I spread a thin layer of gesso in the center of the page and feathered it out around the edges. After is was dry, I misted it with some plain water, and got my mists out. To create the galaxy effect, I sprayed Plum Tuckered out, Deep Blue Sea and Pink Stilettos Shimmerz and let the water mix them together. I dabbed up the excess with a paper towel and repeated the layers till I achieved the depth of color I wanted.

Next, I used some watered down white acrylic pant and a toothbrush (one meant for scrapping!!) to create a fine mist of stars! I also did the same with Glorious Day Vibez to get dimension.

I misted the cork stars with Glorious Day to give them some shimmer and scattered them around the page.

I matted my photo with some grey cardstock and a piece of glitter paper. I backed it with some vellum and placed it at an angle towards the top of the page. I added my title under the photo using tiny tile stickers and Silver Doll Thickers to spell out I Love You Beyond the Stars.
