Make It Yours Monday~ Bunk Beds
Hello Scrappy Friends!! It’s Lisa and I’m here with another Make It Yours Monday. Today’s layout was inspired just yesterday by a wonderful layout I saw on Facebook by Madeleine Lee. I absolutely love all aspects of her page! Those strips, the sequins! I sat down immediately to create my page, I was so drawn to it!
For my page, I used a piece of yellow stripped paper, 05, from Page Evan’s Fancy Free to back my white cardstock. I then had a blast with my Shimmerz, using Bamboo Leaf Spritz, Deep Blue Sea Vibez, Jeni B Bleu Vibez, Mandarin Mai Tai Coloringz, Pretty In Pink Coloringz, Vibez in Razzldazzle Berry and Glorious Day Vibez!!! I splattered a bit of each color onto my background to create a colorful base for the rest of my page.
I made good use of my scraps box, finding all the right colors without having to cut into any new papers! I used a strip of scrap laying horizontal with some adhesive to hold my strips into place when I had them just right, and then used my sewing machine to stitch them into place.
For my photo layers, I started with a medium glassine bag from the shop, a strip of gold foiled paper from my scraps box, a piece of torn vellum and a pretty purple scrap that was the perfect size. I tucked a 4″ doily into the layers before I adhered them together. I placed the photo onto the page, slightly to the left.
On Trend 2 ephemera was the perfect place to start for embellishments, they had a fun tropical feel to them. I placed a coral heart with fun foil polka dots on top of the doily in the lower left of my photo. I tucked one of the gold pineapples just behind the doily to finish that cluster. I added my journaling to a manila shipping tag and tucked it into glassine bag, the bottom layer of the photo layers!! I had a pretty blue piece of ric rak on my desk that was the perfect color and length to finish the tag.
Another pineapple in the top right corner of the photo was a fun way to start my next cluster. I added a tiny cork confetti heart and a yellow flower from the Happy Dance sequin mix, the flowers have a great tropical fee to them!
My title fit perfectly to right of my photo, and it was fun mixing the two fonts to create it. A Happy Day flower fit perfectly into the title also.
Then, it was time for the SPARKLE!!! I used multiple sequin mixes to create 2 clusters, in the top left and bottom right corners of my page. Pocket Full of Posies, Rockin’ Pink Ombre, Strawberry Bubblegum, Sweet Pea and Happy Dance all complemented my photo and papers perfectly, so I used a few from each. You can never have to much sparkle!!!!!
