Loved Beyond Measure, Scraplifting Katty Miranda
Hey scrappers, Ali here! This week we are scraplifting Katty Miranda! Her work is so beautiful, it was difficult to pick! I went with this gorgeous masterpiece, I loved the shape and movement, and I knew it would really challenge me!
For my take, I wanted to emulate the same movement, but instead of butterflies I wanted to create a space/galaxy motif with stars and moons. I started with some white paint and dabbed it on with textured ink dauber. After the paint dried I added a quick splatter of gold mist. Then I used a star stencil and Paste Eez (Tree Hugger) to add more dimension to my galaxy. I had a bit of Pink Paislee’s Moonstruck collection left, and I knew this would be perfect for layering under my photo!
The final touch (as usual) were the sequins! I started with the Deck the Halls mix (and no, this is NOT a Christmas layout!) because I wanted to include those super fun gold stars! The green in the mix also matched really well with the Paste Eez stars. At first I also had included the red sequins, but they didn’t flow as well. Instead I decided to add some of the pink from You are My Sunshine mix, since some of the details I was using from Moonstruck included pink. I think sequins are a really great way to pull colors from your embellishments and patterned papers so the layout feels more cohesive! While that may seem like plenty of sequins (there is really no such thing!), I still felt it needed more…so in came the Gold Stardust Sequins!
With the white “galaxy” I really wanted to pull more white from the background. I decided to layer it at an angle, and add stitching to the top and bottom (like the original)! I really love how it turned out, and I am so thankful to Katty for the inspiration!
