June’s Special Guest is….

…..SpiegelMom herself!!  Hey everyone, Jody here today and I’m your guest designer this lovely month of June!  I thought it would be fun in preparation for the SpiegelMom Scraps 6 year anniversary month in July to hang out on the blog more this month so you can get to know me better.

So, here’s a little about me!  I’m Jody!  I’m a full time workin’ Mama with a super busy family life and some crazy kiddos!  I’ve been a crafter since I was a little girl and but really dove into this hobby in about 2003.  I went to my first Stampin Up! workshop with my BFF Jenn and was hooked.  From there I quickly fell in love with scrapbooking and never looked back.  I was an independent consultant for Memory Works from 2006 until they closed their doors in 2013.  I was on their Design Team and loved so many things about that company!  

In 2010 I started SpiegelMom Scraps and ran my business on Etsy for several years, connecting with so many wonderful crafters all over the world!  From there, I was one of the founders of Clique Kits and fell even more in love with this hobby.  My time were was an amazing journey.  Last February I stepped down as I had to move forward with many things in my family life and SMS. Now, things are busy as ever and I’m looking forward to this summer! 

My family will be moving this summer and I’m very excited to get into our new home!  I can’t wait to set up my craft studio, video filming & photography area and the kids craft area!!  Besides my kitchen, that area will be my favorite place in our home!  I’ll give you a tour after it’s done!  

Ok my friends, enough about me for today and on with my layout!  Today I’m sharing one of a few layouts I created with the Pink Paislee Fancy Free collection.  I used the pretty ombre teal background as my base and cut a bunch of those beautiful butterflies from The Cut Shoppe!  I’ve really been trying to stretch my papers lately and cut files make it so easy!!  This awesome file is from the Love Everlasting cut file collection, which you can find here. I think my favorite thing about the butterflies is how the cut file compliments the stained glass in my photo. 

I used this lovely cut file to compliment the entire feel of the photo & layout. Besides that, I wanted to emphasize the word ‘you’ so I painted on some Dazzlerz texture paste in Coral Me Crazy and love how it turned out! 

Here’s a close up of the glassine bag sequin pocket I created as a photo matte. I love how the glassine bag softens the sequins just enough ❤️
