Interactive What??
Hello scrappers, Ali here! I am super excited about the project I am sharing today…for a few reasons! One. I got my Fuse out again, that always makes me happy! Two, it is inspired by one of my faves-Miranda Lambert! Three, it is also inspired by papercrafting…not specifically scrapbooking. I love watching videos of people who make exploding boxes, pop up cards, sliding thingys (technical term), and anything interactive. I love making boxes and recently made a pop up card. But I have wanted to incorporate interactive elements on my scrapbook layouts as well. I always decide not to because of the pesky page protectors! But alas, I found a way around that!
Before we get to the interactive part let’s talk sequins…I love love love the new releases, and especially Painted Gardens. My favorite color is purple, and I know a lot of scrappy friends hate purple, but it is my JAM! I also used a combination of Sparkle Power and What’s Up Buttercup in my shaker/journaling. After I completed my layout I knew I wanted to add a LOT of journaling, but I didn’t really have room. So I made a little shaker cover that will flip open to reveal my journaling! So, this is a photo of me as a little kid on a tricycle, with heart shaped glasses, and I just know I am too cool. The sunglasses are pink…which immediately made me think of the Miranda Lambert song, Pink Sunglasses. When I saw this photo, I knew I had to scrap about my pink sunglasses…and not just in the literal sense. The song (for those of you who don’t stalk Miranda Lambert on Spotify) is about “pink sunglasses” or as we usually refer to them, rose colored glasses. I still have a habit of putting on my rose colored glasses and seeing the world as a big sparkle-tastic place to be. It helps me cope. But as a kid, I think we all see the good in things. My journaling reflects how I felt about growing up in this particular neighborhood vs. what I know now. Basically, how my pink sunglasses shaped my view of my childhood.
Here comes the fun part. Under the photo is actually a double slider. The twine at the top, which will stick out of my page protector when I move it to an album (in about 6 months…) is accessible to pull the sliders out and reveal the song lyrics…
I really love how this turned out. It is so much fun to make and it’s so much fun to interact with!
I also made a little stop motion video to show you how the sliders work!
Have you ever created an interactive layout? I would love to see it!
Don’t forget to add the sequins!
