Happy Thoughts – Minimalist Page
Happy Tuesday!
Today’s post comes from Florida, where my hubby + dogs & I are spending a week in beach heaven. I wanted to share this somewhat minimalist page, which I designed with a desire to focus on a few different products. Combining them was a challenge I was willing to tackle.
- A large glassine bag, with which I toned down that colorful photo of my stack of journals and used as a pocket for a really perfectly coordinated sequin mix. *Side note, journaling is something I value so much. I’ve done it for many years.
- Shipping tag watercolored a dark grey
- A really beautiful gold-foil doily
I started by layering a square of white cardstock over some paper from the Crate Paper Hello Love collection, tucking in a strip of gold washi. I painted the gift tag, and sewed my picture and sequin mix into two separate glassine pockets. The mix I used, Magic Day in the Park, is a SpiegelMom Scraps exclusive & you can find it in the shop! These bags are perfect for creating subtle sequin pockets.
I cut the doily in half and layered it under the stitched “Happy Thoughts” title die-cut phrase by Dear Lizzy. I accented with a few printable pieces from Claudia Van R Designs Hot Right Now collection, found here.
A few arrows, enamel dots, paint specks, and an adorable cloud feltie + journaling finished off this page.
What are some products/elements you’d like to combine on a single page?

Really nice layout Rachel! I love the way your photo looks with the glassine bag over it, really cool. The stitching on the title is my favorite, it’s perfect over the gold doilie!!
