Hand Stitching
I have always wanted to hand stitch a layout. I love the work that both Paige Evans and Caroline Free do. I will say though, it takes a toll on the hands. So what better final project to do for Spiegel Moms as a guest designer, than a hand stitched one.
I stitched these flowers over a course of 3 days. The image comes from theeastwind on etsy. I saw her stamp and wanted to create something different with it. I love the doilies which you can find here in the shop.
In my first layout, I mentioned heavy body acrylic. I finally picked some up and I am in love. I made these butterflies with the acrylic and some purple ink. The glass slipper sequins fit so perfect for this layout.
I never thought I would use these wood circles from Amy Tan, but I finally did. I love the meaning behind their placement for me. In this image it is a part of my family tree. Three generations. The butterflies signify my nana as well as her favorite color. I miss her dearly.
Ok, if you have been wanting the Tim Holtz Distress crayons, I highly recommend them. Just make sure you prep your page with gesso. I first tried this without gesso and they just do not work well. They are so creamy and I love the vibrant colors.
I truly enjoyed being a part of Spiegel Mom’s and thank you so much Jody for having me. Be sure you guys join them for National Scrapbook Day, I will be hosting a challenge and can’t wait to see what you create. Happy Scrapping!!!!!
