Hello everyone! It’s Ka here today to share a card with you. I haven’t play with the cork butterfly die-cuts from SpiegelMom Scraps, so I thought I take one out and make a birthday card with it. Honestly, I didn’t know what I was going to do with the pretty cork butterfly die-cut, so I just mostly experimented with the arrangements and layers. I felt I didn’t do the cork butterfly much justice at all.
I started the card by die-cutting a white cardstock using a stitched rectangle dies. Then I ran it through the Big Shot machine with a flourishes texture plate. Next, I die-cut a piece of pastel yellow cardstock using an instax Polaroid frame dies and stamped the sentiment from Mama Elephant Fair Feathers set. I layered a piece of scrap paper with Plum Chevron Ribbon and adhered the panel behind the Polaroid frame.
Next, I peeled the sticky back of the cork butterfly die-cut and put it on top of the ribbon. I created a swirly line using some black gemstones. I thought the butterfly look too plain, so I decided to add a black glossy sequin and top the sequin with a tiny gold star. I assembled all the pieces to a purple card base along with a navy burlap string. The entire Polaroid frame was popped up with foam dimensional adhesives. Then I finished the card by clipping a mini clothespin to the string and frame.
I still had a lot of fun experimenting with arrangements and layers even though I felt I didn’t do the cork butterfly justice. I hope you enjoy today’s card anyway and you can go HERE. if you want to see the full supplies list. Thank you so much for stopping by and I’ll see you back here next week for my final post as SpiegelMom Scraps September Guest Designer!
