Adventure @ Minnehaha Pocket Life with Sarah
Hello there, SMS fans! It’s Sarah on the blog again today with another Pocket Life spread for you. We were really busy this summer enjoying the beautiful weather and exploring all of the fun things to do in the Twin Cities. I try to plan one special outing every week while my girls are out of school and that means lots of extra pictures! I find that it is frequently too many pictures to squeeze into my normal PL weekly pages, so I usually make a special two page spread for every outing. Here is our first adventure of the summer:
We visited Minnehaha Falls in Minneapolis and had a picnic lunch. To document this event, I used collections from Amy Tangerine, Jen Hadfield and Dear Lizzy. And, as always, a bunch of fun goodies from the SMS shop!
I used a lime green piece of patterned paper from Dear Lizzy Happy place for my title card. I added a 3×4 piece of Large Glassine Bag and filled it with Spring Blooms Sequin Mix, a few seed beads from my stash and some chunky glitter. I sewed it onto the card with my sewing machine. I added the Amy Tangerine word Thicker and some enamel letter stickers from Fancy Pants. I embellished with some Heidi Shine in Teal and a couple of the new Hot Pink Heart Felties. I also made a fun filler card using a sticker from the Happy Place collection and adding a few of the Spring Blooms Sequins.
I love using sequins in place of expensive enamel dots! On this 4×6 picture I added a few above some letter stickers and added a pink gem. Above, on the 3×4 filler card, I gave it a good splatter of Heidi Shine in Teal and more Spring Bloom Sequins. They are such a perfect match to the Dear Lizzy Happy Place collection!
I made a 4×6 filler card using a teal piece of patterned paper from the Jen Hadfield Everyday collection and sewing on a triangle of Large Glassine Bag to create a pocket. I sewed the pocket on and then filled it with ephemera and a Medium White Shipping Tag. I added a flower sticker from Dear Lizzy and embellished with Spring Blooms Sequins and some pink gems.
I made a super fun shaker flip pocket using a 3×4 Becky Higgins Fuse brand flip pocket and filling it with a piece of acetate ephemera from Happy Place and adding some of the Spring Blooms Sequin Mix, some chunky glitter and a few seed beads from my stash. I sewed it shut with my sewing machine, but you could also use a Fuse tool for this.
I embellished this 4×6 picture with an Amy Tangerine word Thicker, sequins, gems and another Hot Pink Heart Feltie. I also used a Heart Feltie on the 3×4 above it, this time using my Tiny Attacher.
Well, that does it from me today! I hope you enjoyed my project and that it can bring you some crafty inspiration! Look for more PL posts from me this month!
