Abby you’re a firework!

Hey all! Jody here today with a few tips for using Shimmerz Paints, texture paste! First of all, this stuff spreads like the creamiest frosting you’ve ever had in your life! It’s smooth & just beautiful. Here’s a close up at this yumminess!! I’ve used three different things to spread the texture paste and two of the three worked well. First, I tried a small metal palett knife (long & narrow) and I just didn’t like it. It was too stiff and didn’t spread the texture paste very well. Second, I tried a long, narrow plastic palett knife which worked pretty good. The plastic palett knife was much more flexible and easier to work with. Third, I just used my finger! I think that was actually my favorite tool lol!

To create my texture paste firework bursts I used an Amy Tangerine stencils I picked up at My Scraps & More on sale and Shimmerz Paints Dazzlers in Red-iculous. I think this is actually a flower, but it works perfectly for fireworks too! This matches Abby’s spunky personality perfectly!!

After I laid my stencil in my American Crafts white card stock I held it in place with some washi tape. I lightly dabbed Dazzlerz onto my stencil and gentally wiped it across & tada!! Fireworks!!

Next, I had some texture paste left on my finger so I just wiped the excess onto my layout around my firework bursts. No wasting this stuff!!

Now, I was impatient and didn’t want to wait for the texture paste to dry so I just kept on creating my layout. I knew what photo I was using already, hence the red fireworks 😀. I added a few Project Life cards from the Holidays Mini Kit behind Abby’s photo and layered some Heidi Swapp gold chipboard embellishments (Michaels Craft Store), Cosmo Cricket Tiny Type alphas, Red Heart Felt-Fetti and gold foil stickers from my stash. Here are a couple close ups!!
