A Little Serendipity Sketch Challenge
Happy Saturday everyone! Today I’m sharing a layout sketch I created for the Victoria Marie Facebook Group this month. I posted this sketch within the group last week Monday and am enjoying being a part this fun creative community. Here’s the sketch I created for one of this month’s challenges.
And here’s my layout with a few close ups. I used Dear Lizzy’s Serendipity collection and mixed in some of my favorite little including Dear Lizzy wood veneers, SpiegelMom Scraps white doilies, a white medium shipping tag, sequins and cork embellishments!
I think the fastest way for me to scrapbook these days is to use 3-4 patterned papers, 1-2 photos and a few embellishments. I choose 1 or 2 papers to use the most of and the others to compliment them. Sometimes I choose those supporting papers to add contrast and sometimes I want them to be subtle. In this case I wanted to use the bold floral as a photo matte because it was just too bold for me to use as a background this time. I also used a navy blue print for the othe photo matte to add a little more contrast.
Above you can see a closeup of my journaling section. I used those edge stripes from the 12×12 Dear Lizzy Serendipty papers to create this little journaling area. I also wanted to pull a little more of the aqua color across the layout so I added some washi tape from my stash & Elle’s Studio ephemera, along with a Chunky Cork Star for a little texture. I really love how it balances the layout out more!!
Thanks so much for spending your time with me today!! If you’re interested in any of the embellishment shown here, they’re linked below. Also, the site My Scraps & More is closing down & having a huge 50% off sale. Check them out for some great deals on papercrafting goodies.
