Creative Cards With Karla – Typewriter Card and Bookmark Set!
Hello friends! Karla here today, and I hope you’ve had a wonderful week so far. I’ve been having fun with the SpiegelMom Scraps June theme – Take Us Back June – and been thinking of lots of retro icons to have fun with this month. I found some fun typewriter paper along with a cut apart image in my stash and decided it would make a great card and bookmark set. While I was looking through my sequin mixes to see what matched my project I found some lovely colours in the Holiday Traditions sequin mix and then grabbed the Mocha Mint Dream sequin mix to go along with it. Now, I wouldn’t have automatically grabbed these two mixes for either a summer or a retro project, but I realized they work and I need to mix and match more of the mixes that I might be overlooking!
I recently picked up one of the Becky Higgins Fuse Tools and I am loving it! I love the look of shaker pockets, but when it comes right down to it, I just don’t have the patience to think about all the details to make that little shaker area! Well, this made it sooo easy! I cut the typewriter card out of the cut apart sheet and used a pocket page from my stash to fuse around 3 edges. I glued on my cute Cork Confetti Heart and added some sequins and glitter to my pocket before fusing the top. Easy-peasy!! I used some Scor tape to tape my pocket to the card base and added a little tab at the top stamped with a greeting from an older CTMH stamp set.
Inside, I used a stamp from the Your Next Stamp Whatnot Sentiment Ten set and added more sequins and some washi tape along the bottom. A few dots of Stickles on the letters add a bit more bling! Well, I couldn’t stop at just a card, so as I was thinking about what I could create next with my fun Fuse tool I thought a bookmark would be great! It could fit into an envelope with the card and add a little something extra for that special person! I layered on my papers, stamped with the typefont CTMH stamp set and created the pocket the same way as above, using more of the Holiday Traditions sequins and the Mocha Mint Dream sequins again. I punched a hole in the top, and since I was using a thick ribbon I wasn’t worried about anything coming out of the hole.
Here’s a look at the back of the bookmark – where I again used the YNS sentiment stamp.
