Scrapbooking with Karla – Paper Layering Scraplift
Hello friends! Karla here today with another scrapbook page following along with our Scraplift theme – and this week it’s the amazing Kat Benjamin or KraftyKat as she’s also known! I love her clean style, and I love how she coordinates the products she’s using! She also makes awesome pocket pages <3
I decided to scraplift Kat’s page Hey Handsome – here’s a look at it:
I really liked the layers of paper she used and the striking black title, so even though I went with a totally different colour scheme I followed the basic layout. I really love scraplifting – I think it makes you try different ideas and styles that you might not otherwise, and you just might find something you love! I chose an older collection I had in my stash – Jubilee by My Mind’s Eye and the awesome NEW sequin mixes from the SpiegelMom Scraps Store: Star Spangled, Girly Glitter and Ferris Wheel!
I used a 1″ circle punch to cut out coordinating papers and placed them on in a similar way to Kat’s page. I even pop-dotted one to give it a little extra dimension. I pulled colours from my photo and paper when choosing the sequins and I grouped them around each circle.
I really liked the black title on Kat’s page, so I decided to use one of the acetate overlays from this collection, backed by a piece of patterned paper. I added a strip of the arrow paper to add some colour above the title and used a chipboard sentiment to add dimension. A few more sequins above and below the title follow Kat’s layout, and I added my journaling by first penciling in straight lines and writing with a Faber Castel pen.
Here’s a look at the new sequin mixes I used today – Star Spangled, Girly Glitter and Ferris Wheel! The names of these mixes just make me happy!!

I love your scraplift! I am trying to work through a home made kit and I’m down to white or black card stock and scraps. This layout will help me get one more page out of this kit! Thanks for the inspiration! Scraplifting…:)
