Watercoloring on a Layout
Happy Friday everyone! I’m posting two layouts today, one here and one on the Clique Kits Blog! Yes, you’ll be seeing double today my friends. I created both of my layouts with our Clique Kits July Kit, A Midnight Summer’s Dream. This awesome kit features Allison Kreft’s Capture Life papers & stickers,
Freckled Fawn Glitter arrows, along with many other handpicked embellishments & CK Exclusives.
For this layout, I started with a piece of 12×12 American Crafts cardstock and added some soft watercolors. To create my watercolors I put about a teaspoon of water into a few separate small containers (recycled styrofoam egg cartons work great for this!) I added several drops of my various Studio Calico Mr Huey’s sprays into into the small containers of water to create my watercolors. I used a 1″ foam brush to apply the watercolors to my cardstock, being careful not to over saturate it. Then I lifted the cardstock up and let the watercolor run down the page. I hit it with my heat gun to dry it faster just to save some time.
Here are some close ups and more details. These stickers have several sizes of frames which I wanted to utilize on this layout. I love the look of lots of different elements & small layers of papers & stickers. This is a great way to use up smaller scraps of paper too!
Here are some more bits & pieces ;). I’ve added some other fun embellishments besides the goodies my kit. You’ll see some fabulous Pink Fresh Studio wood veneer chevrons & enamel shapes, Freckled Fawn Glitter Arrows & some hand punched cork chevrons.
One thing I love about this layout is that I tilted my 4×4″ Instagram & it looks like it’s actually coming through the papers & embellishments!! Happy accident right there!
Thanks so much for spending your time with me today!! I love to hear from you so please leave me a comment or suggestion on something you’d like to see me cover in a post!
