Lucky Us Layout with Katty Miranda
Hello friends! Katty Miranda here with another Scrapbook Session. This week I am scrapbooking a picture of my mom and niece. Whenever my niece is off from work she likes to come over and take my mom out. They love going to the casino, even if it is for 30 minutes, they love it. I think it’s funny, I am not a casino fan. While on their little adventures, they love to send me pictures and call me on Facetime while i’m at work. I always find it hilarious. I just had to scrap about this. I will also journal but on the back(I hate seeing my handwriting on pages, lol.)
For this layout I began with white 12×12 cardstock. I used a Teresa Collins Stencil with a geometric floral pattern and I used the edges of the stencil on the top and the bottom of the center of the page to create two triangles facing each other. Through the stencil I used the beautiful Shimmerz Dazzlers in Pucker up Pink. It’s a beautiful pinky fushia color. I love how it looks with this stencil. I then added the sequins from the beautiful Mint Chip Sequins Mix. I just scattered them around in random areas within the geometric floral. The only pattern I kept was that I added the same sequin on one side as I did the other. However both triangles were different. I then tried a couple of options for patterned paper as a mat for my photo and decided on a light grey and light green from the Crate Paper Notes & Things 6×6 paper pad. That also brought in some of the green from the sequins.
I kept my embellishing very simple. I used three of the Chunky Cork Stars. I used the same Shimmerz Dazzlers in Pucker up Pink and with a small flat brush I added a border around the stars. It added a nice shimmery touch to the beautiful cork stars. I also added a light pink sequin from the Mint Chip Sequins to the center of each of the stars.
For my tittle I used some Amy Tangerine foam word thickers and wrote out what I thought was a very appropriate tittle “Lucky us. ” I finished off my layout with some splatters of black india ink around my stars. I really love how this turned out. I am one of those scrapbookers that just likes to add and add and add things to my pages and I am slowly learning that sometimes less is more. I hope you love my layout as much as I do.
