December Daily Wrap Up 2013
Well my scrappy friends, the hustle and bustle of the holidays is almost done and our ‘normal’ routines will resume soon. It’s always bittersweet for to me to return to work after a wonderful 13 days off! I love routine and being organized, but staying home with our kids is wonderful. I’ve been soaking them up like crazy these last few days!!!
I’ve been trying to get this post done for the last 4 days too… So onto the last few days of my December Daily. Here’s a close up shot of how the edges of my mini album look. Lots of different elements peaking out from the behind the pages.
I’ve really fallen in love with all the gold accents in the paper crafting world this year.. Gold Doilies, Sequins, Alpha stickers… the list goes on! I did some very simple layering on top of the 4×6″ Simple Stories card. I cut a Gold Foil Doily in a third and adhered it with Aileen’s Tacky Glue, then cut some little banner shapes out. I chose this Peace Love Joy 4×4″ Simple Stories card and adhered it to the 4×6″ card, along with the banner shapes and the Gold Foil Doily. Pretty simple 🙂
This page is the backside of the 4×6″ card above. The contrast of the black and white chalkboard design is a great mix with all the bright Christmas colors! I just added a few SpiegelMom Scraps Sequins, Maggie Holmes gold glitter alphas and called it a day!
Next is a little more complicated page. The base of the page is wool felt with I ran through my sewing machine around the edges with gold thread… my other new favorite 🙂 Next, I die cut WISH on my Cricut using my Close To My Heart Artbooking Cartridge. I used a 6×6″ piece of paper from the Fancy Pants Merry Little Christmas pad and then trimmed around it to create the large banner shape. This is another creative way to use your Cricut!! It looks like a specialty die cut or something created with a Silhouette. It’s adhered to the felt with Aileen’s Tacky Glue and then I added more layers and other elements around it.
A little closer…
This page was created on the backside of the 21 page above. I adhered the Santa paper to this side before running it through my little sewing machine. The page below is a fun pocket page. You can have the kids write down their wish lists, traditions or even what your Elf on the Shelf has been up to this month!
Next, is this adorable snowman page! The page is green wool felt with the patterned paper adhered with Aileen’s Tacky Glue and stitched around the edges with gold thread.. yes there’s a trend here GOLD!
Finally Christmas morning was upon us!!!! This page is super simple.. just add some sequins and a gold glitter thicker.. Good. To. Go!
This page is the backside to the Dec 25th card. I thought it was the perfect way to end my December Daily and needed no embellishment!
I wish you all a very blessed and Happy New Years!!! I’ll be back very soon with Part 1 of a very special mini album reveal!!
XOXO,
Jody
