Happy April everyone!  I’m super excited to be back creating this month. I took a good month off a to rebuild my Etsy shop, update my blog, make some new connections and create some of my own embellishments! I’m very excited to show you a couple of the die cut CORK sets in action today!  

I created this layout using a this beautiful Dear Lizzy wood veneer die cut background, which took me awhile to decide how to use it exactly.  I wanted some contrast so I mounted it onto Heidi Swapp September Skies collection paper with tacky glue and let it dry.  Then, I simply put my scraps to good use and grabbed a couple of my Fiskars heart paper punches and went to town punching!

Next, I chose this photo from our daughter Sari’s 8th birthday party in February (no this does NOT mean I’m caught up by any means!  I totally scrap out of order!)  I layered the Dear Lizzy alpha stickers right over my photo and underlined them in one of my new cork die cut heart pieces.  This makes more of a statement to me and adds some fun texture and contrast.  Here are a few more close ups.

Here are a few of my favorite elements from a different viewpoint.  You’ll notice that even though I’ve mounted the wood veneer onto a patterned paper, I still popped up a few of the hearts and the pink and gold butterfly!  I absolutely LOVE my foam adhesive by Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L!  It’s the best!
