Beautiful Flowers Layout by Katty Miranda
Hello friends! Katty here to share another layout with you all. This week it’s a double page spread. We continue our team up this month with Let’s get Sketchy. This weeks awesome sketch is the second one by our very own Sara.
I decided instead of one large photo in the center and lots of paper squares that I would use lots of small square photos. This was the perfect opportunity to scrap all of the photos of flowers that I took on my trip to Hawaii this past Summer. I had so many photos that this turned into a double page spread. I matted all of the photos on black cardstock and my background is 12×12 White American Crafts Textured Cardstock. I also used the textured cardtock and cut out some small flowers on my Silhouette Cameo. I also cut out the outline of the flowers. The outlines I left white but the flowers I colored using a bunch of the Shimmerz Paints Mists. I used two colors on each flower. Then I glued the outline on top.
I love how they turned out. I also cut out some leaves and used several of my Shimmerz Mists in the green and yellow tones to back the cut files. I added a sequin to the center of each flower. I used several sequin mixes including Let’s be Mermaids, Peachy Sherbert, Spring Blooms, and Mint Chip.
For my tittle I used a mix of thickers and some Rub ons from the My Minds Eye On Trend 2 collection. I kept my embellishing very simple, I added a few arrow stickers from the We R Memory Keepers Urban Chic collection.
Here is a side by side look of the sketch and the layout. I love that it has a whimsical touch.
