Tuesday’s Talent – Tracey Fox
Tracey Fox here again, and I’m sharing a layout where I stuffed some some acrylic shapes full of sequins for a fun, new look.
I set out to scrap a page about a group lunch I had while at a scrapbooking retreat in Nashville last year, and I immediately realized the Sunflower Fields pack would accent the layout perfectly. I adore the color yellow, and the tiny, yellow sequins are the exact cool tint of yellow to match this “I Love All Ya’ll” postcard I picked up in a candy shop in Nashville on this trip. Their teeny size also made them perfect for filling up these acrylic heart outline embellishments I had in my stash from Elle’s Studio:
To create these sequin-filled embellishments, I backed the hearts with white cardstock and put down a thick layer of Glossy Accents. (Any glue that dries totally clear would work!) I then stuffed the sequins down into the hearts, pressing them into the glue. To make sure the sequins at the top that didn’t quite make it down into the glue stayed put, I squeezed a bit more of the Glossy Accents on top. I added a few white ink splatters, some translucent heart stickers from Simple Stories, and a few more sequins around the hearts to create a cute, vertical smattering of embellishments on the page. I just love how the elements pop on this dark wood grain patterned paper! Here’s an even closer look:
