Ice Cream with Laura

Hello chaps! Thanks for joining me for some mini album madness!

Photo heavy post… I’ve made a mini album! Oh I love it, the colours, the patterns, the subject matter!! Let me walk you through it…

It’s quite a dinky hand-sized album. The pages are a mixture of tags, cardstock rectangles, a glassine bag… all very eclectic! There was a die cut circle on my desk so that went in too!

I’ve used a printable collection from Claudia Van R and supplies from SpiegelMom Scraps. The only additional supplies were some hole reinforcers from Heidi Swapp, a gold pen, and a book ring I coloured gold to match the collection.

A brief note about the subject matter: I like ice cream a lot. We went away for a week and I tried to eat an ice cream every day!!

The colours of the sequins in the spring bloom sequin mix perfectly match the Amy collection.

Rather than keep my rectangular pages regular I let the photo overlap the edge. This gave me some interesting shapes and a good way to add extra contrasting pops of colour on the reverse of the overhang.

This was my first time using a digital collection and the only complaints I have is I wish I had a better printer and cutting out the alphas is a faff!!

This page is a wood veneer. It was surprisingly easy to punch a hole through the wood with my big hole punch. The heart aperture gives a lovely peek-a-boo efffect to the page beneath.

I love these felt hearts – I find myself wanting to add some to every project. I find with mini albums if you add something once it can look a bit odd, but repeat the element on 3 or 4 pages and it looks like it belongs.
