Scrappy Saturday Layout with Katty Miranda

Hello friends! Katty here to share a 12×12 layout with you all. Today for Scrappy Saturday I am scrapbooking a photo of my brother and niece at her college graduation last December. We are so proud of her. I decided to print the photo in black and white because her gown was purple and my brother was wearing a red shirt! Not the best color combination.

I began with a few patterned papers from the Fancy Pants Office Suite and Happy Place Collections. I decided to use a black and white stripe and polka dot as my background. I layered them in between some American Crafts White Textured Cardstock. I tilted the papers a bit so that they weren’t all perfectly straight. I also used my distress tool to distress the white cardstock edges. I added a strip of arrows to the four corners using a Teresa Collins Stencil and the beautiful Shimmerz Dazzlerz in Coral Me Crazy.

I added a simple black cardstock mat for my photo and layered one of the blue patterned papers behind it. I also added a White Lace Paper Doily both behind my photo and on the bottom cluster. I used one of the patterned papers that has a beautiful floral on it and fussy cut some flowers from it. I layered the flowers around my photo, which I placed towards the top left of the page and also clustered some of the flowers on the bottom right. I also grabbed some leaf sprigs and 2 flowers I had cut out in my silhouette cameo and backed those with black cardstock to add to my floral clusters.

I pulled out the Kaisercraft Finders Keepers Paper Pad and found that the colors in it worked perfectly with the Fancy Pants papers I had picked out to use.

I layered one of the papers behind my photo and pulled some of the embellishment circles and tags that come in the paper pad and scattered them around my page in my clusters. I decided  I needed an small third cluster on the top left of the page behind my photo as well. For some extra texture and sparkle I also added the beautiful yellow flowers from the Happy Dance Sequins in my clusters as well.

For my tittle I crated a shelf for my tittle to sit on to the right of my photo using a pink strip from the Fancy Pants papers and a blue scallop border from the Kaisercraft Finders Keepers Paper Pad. I added some of the flatback frosted white sequins also from the Happy Dance Sequins to the scallops. For the actual tittle I used a Wood veneer from my stash that says “Congrats,” I colored it black using Black India Ink. As a finishing touch, I added splatter with the same Black India Ink.
