Scrapbooking with Karla – Scraplifting Jenn Gagne!
Happy Thursday!! Karla back today with a scrappy springtime layout. This week we are scraplifting our awesome Guest Designer Jenn Gagne. Be sure to check out Tuesday’s blog post where she shared an amazing traveler’s notebook project! I’ve decided to use her beautiful Easter layout as inspiration for my scrapbook project today. I just loved the pretty colours and those gorgeous doilies, and I knew this would be a perfect layout to add the On Pointe, Aquarius, Morning Glow and Painted Gardens Sequin Mixes! Here’s a look at Jenn’s layout:
I picked up a lovely PhotoPlay collection over the weekend and I couldn’t wait to use the springtime papers included. I’m really impressed with the PhotoPlay papers I’m seeing! I started off by adding Distress Oxide Inks to my splat mat and spritzing with Tattered Angels Iridescent Gold Mist. I put the white doilies directly onto the inky mist and pulled them through it to add some shimmery watercolour. I used 3 different colours for the doilies and then dried them with a heat gun.
I used the same inky mists to add some watercolours and splats directly to my white cardstock background before laying down the doilies and then adding my photo matted with the pretty PhotoPlay papers.
I stamped some butterflies, words and scrolls on the background with Distress Oxide Inks and then added some flowers, gems and more butterflies popped up with foam dots to give the layout some more dimension. Then, of course, the fun part – adding the sequins!! This just makes the layout come alive!
Here’s a look at all the beautiful sequins I used today – On Pointe, Aquarius, Morning Glow and Painted Gardens! I loved how all these gorgeous colours worked with this pretty springtime layout <3
