Play: Process Video with Khristina
Hi Everybody! I am SO very excited to be back this week at SpiegelMom Scraps with my second Guest Designer project for the month of July. I am having a blast working with these amazingly fun products and I hope that I have inspired you to give them a try too!
Today, I am going to share a layout and process video using a few different collections and embellishments as well as a cut file that I created to make “fake” shaker pockets so much easier and faster!! What’s even better is I have included my basic title cut file below so that you can try it out too! You can find the process video by clicking here.
One of my favorite uses for all of these beautiful sequins is to create shaker pockets combined with cut files. The two elements naturally work well together and create a fun and unique detail on your page. The problem is that cut files and shaker pockets and can be messy and a lot of work. So….today I am showing you a way to make it a little easier and faster to get the same look.
Without further ado, here is my completed project and some close-ups as well as some helpful hints. Make sure to check out the process video as well as it gives more of a step-by-step guide to what I did to create this look.
By creating two layers with my cut file, I was able to cut the outline of the letters on regular white cardstock and then the filled version of the letters with sticker paper (cut thru my Silhouette upside down just like in the video—yellow side upJ ) This allowed the sticky side to be facing upward and easily adhered those sequins and details. I added a piece of clear transparency between the sticker paper layer and the cardstock outline layer and voila….the look of a shaker pocket with simple steps and sequins that won’t move around and pool up at the bottom of the letters!!
From the SpiegelMom Scraps Store, I worked with two different sequin packages: Amy’s Sprinkles and Hot Right Now. I also used the Normandy 4 inch white doilies which I colored on the edges with Tim Holtz distress ink in Mermaid Lagoon. The last component that I incorporated from SpiegelMom Scraps was the super fun Felt-Fetti Hearts.
Make sure to click below to try out the PLAY title cut file. Make sure to share your project with me if you use the cut file to create one. Also, make sure to check out the process video that goes with this layout by clicking here. I will be back next week with another fun project! Happy Crafting!!
