Enjoy Life – Let’s Get Sketchy + SMS Team Up!

Hello!

Today I get to share my interpretation of this week’s sketch! You may have heard, we at SpiegelMom Scraps have teamed up with our friends over at Let’s Get Sketchy for the month of November. You can visit their site for the sketch or check it out here in the 15 minutes 2 Scrap Facebook group.The fun sketch Sara designed included butterflies and no matter how hard I try, I can’t figure out how to incorporate butterflies into my projects. Ugh! Strangely, I think it’s because I don’t have kids yet. So in place of those I’ve included some heart punches. My whole post was inspired by the gorgeous new sequin mix in the shop: 2 Cool 4 U. I absolutely love this mix! And while many of the mixes in the shop coordinate well with popular lines – I’m on a crafting budget, so I’ve chosen to use some papers from my stash. I stitched my punched hearts onto some paper from the Dear Lizzy Saturday collection, backed against white cardstock. I then splattered some Shimmerz Vibez in Egg Noggin’ for a little shine. I layered this picture of my sweet German Shepherd onto some vellum and gold-foil polka dotted paper.

That triangle shaped shaker pocket full of sequins found its place stitched on the corner of my patterned paper. To make this: I first trimmed an extra page protector scrap into my desired triangle shape. I then used my Fuse Tool to seal the sequins in.

I used a few pieces of wood veneer on my page including a mini clothespin, We R Memory Keepers “Honey I’m Home” title piece, and a heart from my stash. To finish off my page I included a cloud feltie from the shop, and a brad from the Simple Stories “Posh” collection. I added my journaling and then I was done! Stay tuned this month for a new sketch every week!
