Unforgettable – August Challenge
I’m SO thankful I managed to squeeze in some scrapping inspired by this month’s challenge before August ended (WOW it has flown by). Thank you, Lisa for the inspiration. I realized after it was too late that I forgot one portion of the recipe – the doily. In case you missed it:
3 embellishments – doily, sequins, banner, 2 colors from the mood board, 1 sketch
My husband and I keep a journal with a running list of all the things we want to do. Of all the things, traveling some place where we can see the Northern Lights is at the very top. I thought it would be perfect to scrap this for this month’s Bucket List Challenge.
I started with some amazing constellation inspired paper by Basic Grey (an older collection) and used a speckled stencil in combination with my Shimmerz Dazzlers texture paste in Spun Sugar. It resembled a perfect smattering of stars..swoon. I layered some sequins over top to of the texture paste to draw the eye in. I then added a few pink and blue paper scraps and some vellum + star patterned acetate paper. I really couldn’t get enough of the stars for this layout!
I used my Silhouette Cameo for the first part of my title, and combined it with a Project Life card. For some reason I forget to utilize my Cameo – but I love the versatility it provides titles. The banner was made by threading some light pink string through punches from a glassine bag and a few sequins from the Shop. The mix I used, Wedding Bells went perfectly with this mood board inspired layout.
I finished this layout off with a few Heidi Swapp puffy stickers and stitched-on acetate stars. Oh, and of course a handful of sprinkled sequins. I really believe sequins have a place on every craft project ever.
Thanks for checking out my latest project! Hopefully one day I’ll have a chance to scrap my own pictures of the Northern Lights. Does anyone have a view of this gorgeous phenomenon from their home?
