Make It Yours Monday- Warm & Cozy at the Patch
Happy Monday ( I know, lol) and welcome back for another Make It Yours Monday! For November, we are doing what we are calling a Sketch Swap. And, we are teaming up with Let’s Get Sketchy!!! (http://letsgetsketchy.blogspot.com/…) We are so excited for this team up!!! This first week, we are using a sketch from our very own Sarah Scraps!!! I hope you will join us and play along!
For my layout, I decided to use our theme this month, Warm and Cozy. I was instantly drawn to the photo of my Mia in her crochet pumpkin hat!
I started by using my Dreamscicle Dazzlerz through my Tim Holtz Pumpkin stencil across the middle third of my page. Then, I splattered some gold Color Shine and set it all aside to dry.
I then turned my focus to my photo cluster. The Simple Stories Pumpkin Spice collection was on my desk, so I chose some of the papers to use in my cluster. I added a piece of vellum to the bottom layer to give a soft break between the photo cluster and the background stenciling. I added my 4×4 photo and added some foam tape to the back.
In order to get my Doilies to match my layout, I misted them with Mandarin Mai Tai Coloringz and a layer of gold Color Shine. They were the perfect colors to compliment the papers in the photo cluster! I adhered them to the back of the photo and by now, the texture paste was dry, so I placed the photo and layers to the layout.
A 2″ strip of the Pumpkin pattern paper to the right side was a fun way to keep the pumpkins going and some shapes from the Icon sticker sheet were great touches to put around the layout, as well as some of the tiny word stickers. The alpha’s wound up being a great color to compliment everything, so Warm & Cozy were spelled using the warm Rusty colored ones.
The Newly Released 2 Cool 4 U sequins and Cozy mix both had great colors to finish off my page. From the 2 Cool 4 U mix, I pulled out the Blacks, Peachy Oranges, and yellows while the Cozy mix had a perfect shade of Red and light blue to go along with the papers and my photo. They lend a great pop of color and wonderful sparkle to keep your eyes moving around the layout.
A banner from the ephemera pack in the top left corner and my journaling added under the stenciling and I was done. And, I LOVE it
I hope you guys will all play along with the sketches this month, there will be a new one each week. The team from Let’s Get Sketchy will be providing the sketches for the last 2 weeks of the month. Use them to draw inspiration, and add your own twist, Make it Yours! Today, I used pumpkins instead of the butterflies, but kept to the main structure of the sketch.
Dont forget to use LISA15 when you pick up some of the beautiful sequins or Shimmerz from the shop to save 15%
