Yummy! by Evi
Hello scrapbook friends! Thank you for joining me for today’s layout. I have a mixed media colorful background and then used black and white elements in order not to compete with the colors. This is always a great trick when you have a colorful or busy background, print your photos in black and white, so they do not clash with the background.
We have teamed up with Creative Embellishments this month and I am able to play with the gorgeous chip board elements available in their shop. I recently went to the State Fair and trying all the food is my main objective. In the course of the night, I had about 8 different foodie photos and thought they would work perfectly with the fork, spoon and knife chip board pieces.
I applied a light layer of silver metallic paste by Heidi Swap on them and set aside to dry before I adhered them to my layout.
I then added mint green paint with wide brush strokes and then mists from Shimmerz in Sapphaire and Jeni B Bleu. I used scraps of black and white papers and cut them into squares and rectangles as my ephemera. I clustered and angled my photos and added the squares for more interest around the photos. I added my chip board pieces as book ends to each photo.
For my finishing touches I added Sweet Pea sequins for the last details on my layout. If you would like to make a purchase at the Spiegelmom Scraps shop, remember to use code Evi15 for a discount at checkout.
