Using a Background Cut File with Mixed Media

Happy Sunday everyone!! I hope you’re having a great weekend! This is Megan and I have a layout to share with you today that I used the free monthly cut file on.

I really loved this cut file and new I just had to used it on an artsy layout. I wanted to do something different with it besides backing it with patterned paper so I decided to pull out my Shimmerz Sprays.

I started out by spraying my Shimmerz Paints mists on the cut file. The colors I used were Well Blue Me Down Coloringz, Snow Way Man Vibez, No Yolking Coloringz, Bed of Roses Spritz, and Moody Mauve Coloringz.

In this little cluster I used some chipboard, wood veneer and a button from Paige Evans’ Take me away collection as well as the new 2 Cool 4 U sequin mix from the shop.

I made a little sequin pocket with a mini glassine bag.

I used the top part of the glassine bag in this top right corner for a 3rd cluster with some of the sequins.

I had so much fun layering papers from a few different collections behind the photo.
