Tuesday’s Talent – Tracey Fox
Hi there, sequin-lovers! I’m Tracey Fox, and I’m so pleased to be the April guest designer for Spiegelmom Scraps! In case we haven’t met yet, I’m a self-proclaimed scrapbookin’, feminist nerd living in central Ohio. I love scrapping bold and colorful 12×12 pages about my life, friends, family, and all my geeky pursuits. I post most of my pages on Instagram where I go by @scrappylikeafox, but I’m super excited to also hang out here at the Spiegelmom Scraps blog with you all this month!
For my first project this month, I had fun with the FREE Umbrellas Background cut file and created some sparkly rain using sequins from the We Are Roayls, Father’s Day, and Peach Canna Lily sets. The adorable cut file reminded me of the story of a day when my friend Lydia and I braved a big rainstorm to go to a crafty event not too far from where we live.
I’m not usually one to mix motifs on my pages, but since it was both a rainy AND a crafty day, I didn’t mind using craft-related icons like buttons and paint brushes along with the umbrellas.
I loved backing the umbrellas with a clear printed transparency from my stash so they reminded me of those clear plastic umbrellas of my youth. But the real star of the page is the sequin “raindrops” I glued to the page. I love how they add sparkle and texture to the dark grey background I chose to represent the stormy day.
Thanks for checking out my page, and I hope you’ll also check out these sequin packs and free cut files in the Spiegelmom Scraps shop! And use the code Tracey15 this month to save 15% off your purchase!
