Scraplift Sunday with Crafty Meggy
Hello my fellow SMS fans!! This is Megan and I am up today with a fun and simple scraplift. I was looking through my Scraplift board on pinterest and I found this one with a little mixed media on it.
Don’t you just love it?!! I immediately thought I would try using some Dazzlerz from the shop on the background, but when I actually got to work making the layout I changed my mind. I really liked the idea of using water colors.
This is my final layout and I really love it!
For the water color behind the photo I used Bamboo Leaf Spritz on the whole background and a little bit of Moody Mauve Coloringz.
I wanted to ground the title somehow so I decided to use some Gold Mine Texturez with a chevron stencil I made on my Silhouette Cameo. For the title I had cut out a phrase on my Silhouette and used my Bed of Roses Spritz to make it stand out against the white American Crafts Textured cardstock.
I got the snowflake cut files from the blog. You can find it here.
I also put a little bit of the red spray mist on the snowflakes to have them match the title.
I wanted to do some journaling but I didn’t have anywhere to put it without taking away from the design. I pulled out a mini glassine bag and made a cute little tag. I tied some May Arts Burlap String through the hole I punched to make it easier to grab the tag and pull it out so you can read the journaling.
You can watch my process video below and I explain a little more about the story behind the photo and the tags:
Thanks for stopping by today!! I hope you’re having a great new year so far!!
