Now and Then with Laura

Hi Folks, Laura here.  For this post I am taking on fellow Sparkler Felicia’s September challenge.  Felicia set a really fun challenge – something old and something new – with the added twist of an old photo and a new photo, too.  Now you understand the title NOW AND THEN, huh?

I used the new heart felties and September’s cut file freebie as my new elements.  And all the patterned papers are from my old box of papers.  At least one company no longer exists!

The photos are of my brother with my Dad in 1985 and my brother with his son this year.  I have to say, I would never have put these photos together if it hadn’t been for the challenge.  I adore how it has turned out so think I need to do some more challenges!  Link me up to your favourites please?

I super-sized the scribbly rings cut file and backed each opening with the patterned papers pulled from my stash.

I love how it looks.  I cut a bunch of the smaller files too, but I think I need to cut another big one – I like it too much to use it only once!

I sprinkled a few sequins and enamel dots around the page.  I wanted to match the red of the alphas and the red in the photos.  I have about one thousand enamel dots but none that matched… then I remembered Shimelle had a pack of holly berries and leaves in her Christmas collection…  I had a rummage through my Christmas stash and was so happy to find they were a perfect match!

I am crushing on navy at the moment.  I know the newer collections have some navy in, and these navy hearts are new – I hope we see much more in the coming months.
