Heidi Swapp and sleeping kids
Happy Father’s Day everyone! I hope you’re all enjoying this beautiful weekend with, or remembering, those special guys in your life!!
These past few weeks have been super busy with making more new embellishments for my shop to kick of July!! A few of them will even be brand new for my Scrap Party Blog Hop July 10-17th!! I cannot wait to show them all to you!! I hope you’ll join my Design Team along with some very special guests! Check out my event page for more info!
In the mean time, I’m popping in to share a quick layout just for fun! I dove into whats left of a 2014 Clique Kit, featuring Heidi Swapp’s September Skies line, and created this layout about our daughter Hannah sleeping. There’s something I love about checking on our girls when they’re sleeping. They are so sweet and precious to look at and it makes me to grateful to be their mother. After tucking them in I went back to check on them like I always do and found Hannah with a sponge roller in her hair. The next morning I asked her about it and she didn’t remember doing it, blaming Abby. Hmmm, we’ll never know how that mysterious sponge roller ended up in Hannah’s hair, but it’s one of those precious memories I wanted to save forever!
Overall this layout is pretty simple. I painted over part of my background with some gesso and then layered some of other Heidi Swapp papers under my phone of sleeping Hannah. You see more about adding gesso and paint to your scrapbook layouts in THIS VIDEO and participate in a fun challenge with Create*Craft*Share, hosted by Scrappin’ Madge!
Here are a couple close ups.
I added some Heidi Swapp stickers, Studio Calico silver star rub-ons & black Mr. Huey’s for my final touches and called it a day! This layout only took about 35 minutes to create and I worked on it for about 10-15 minutes at a time over a couple days. It’s the best way to scrapbook for this busy Mama!
Have your given “15 minutes to scrap” a try yet?? If so, I’d love to hear about your experiences, challenges and successes!
I hope you enjoyed today’s post! Remember, do something creative today! Your heart will love you for it!
