Future’s So Bright
Hey y’all! I’m putting down the Fuse for a couple weeks, and focusing on the awesome themes we are playing with this month! This week is BIRTHDAY week! I love birthdays! The idea is to scrap a birthday you normally wouldn’t, how fun is that? I made this layout all about my son’s surprise party…and I know what you’re thinking, that is totally a birthday you would typically scrapbook about, right? Well, it IS, but here’s the thing, my son’s party was a “non” birthday party. We were so busy during his birthday month that we surprised him with a mini party, when our lives slowed down a bit!
We only invited his closest friends, the twins, and had a little backyard water party. Emoji themed, of course (and thank goodness, I was having major FOMO about missing emoji week last week!). I spent a few hours creating emojis to hang from the ceiling, so I was really happy to use one on this layout! And it served multiple purposes, because it was the perfect space for journaling!
These three boys crack me up, they all got cupcakes with the sunglasses emoji, so they obviously needed to take pictures with shades on! I really wanted to highlight the sunglasses, so I lined them with the Stargazer sequins and I ADORE how this turned out.
I couldn’t resist these little star sequins so I also scattered some around the folded corner, as if the sequins were spilling out!
The whole layout came together really quickly, with a little bit of help from the party décor, do you ever repurpose things for your layouts? I used the Stargazer sequins, you NEED some, they are so versatile! And if you haven’t seen the delicious new sequin mixes you need to check those out too!
