Circles and Sketches and Sequins, Oh My!
Okay! First off, if you haven’t seen the newly released sequins…stop reading this and run to the scrap shop to check them out! There are WOOD GRAIN sequins. This new release was huge, and gorgeous, and I am still so excited to be playing with them!
So anywho, now that we have all drooled over some sequins, let’s get down to business…Ali here, with a super fun layout this week! I love sketches, and November is all about sketches and circles (and sequins, duh).
This sketch is so much fun, I love the grid effect with the addition of circles. I used some Pink Paislee Summer Lights against a dark background to get a pop of color and mimic my children’s excitement at the toy store!
I used my silhouette to cut the circles. Then I popped the whole thing off of the background papers to give it lots of dimension. After adding my photos and embellishments I wanted lots of sequins in that “in between” space. Now, I love sequins in all of their sparkle-y glory. The greatest thing about these mixes is they look great scattered about, just a few here and there, and in big piles…maybe especially in big piles. I just love the way the mixes look as a mix, not just individual sequins. So I took some double sided tape (I use the redline kind) and piled on a ton of Dream Land (which I found to be a fitting mix to use on a layout all about my kids at a toy store!). So then I was left with a piece of tape covered in sequins (awesome). It was super easy to add that embellishment wherever I wanted! I just love how these little piles of sequins give this layout a pop of fun!
Be sure to check back next week for a new sketch and a lot more sequin fun!
