I thought painting have of the hearts with the Dazzlerz was a great way to add a little extra wow. When the paste is wet apply the sequins. I just sprinkled them on to the surface and pressed them in with a stick.
I love who this card looks even when it is laying sown flat. The sequins on the top and the cluster at the bottom adds a lot of drama without the bulk.
Thanks for stopping by and having me as a guest for this month.
Hello there! It’s Ka from Stamping Smiles Designs and SpiegelMom Scraps September guest designer! I hope you all had a long and fun Labor Day weekend! Today, I have two cards featuring goodies from SpiegelMom Scraps Etsy shopand some cute critters from a couple of my favorite stamp companies.
“Miss You” Card
First card up today is this cute fox from Avery Elle More Stories stamp set! I used SpiegelMom Scraps Silver Stardust Confetti to create a starry backdrop on my night scene. I just love how perfect they are – the size and how they look! 🙂 To start the card, I die-cut a stitched rectangle from Lawn Fawn Large Stitched Rectangle Stackables die and masked off the stitched edges with post-it notes. I then blended Chipped Sapphire distress ink all over. I set that aside to dry while I worked on my stamped images.
I stamped the images with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored them with Copic Markers. The tree is actually a branch from Sweet ‘N Sassy Stamps Love Birds set, but I thought it was the perfect size to use it as a tree for this card. I used a coordinating die to cut the tree out and carefully fussy cut the fox and moon. I also die-cut a green hill using Lawn Fawn Stitched Hillside Borders die.
Once the sponged background was dried, I stamped the sentiment from the same set as the fox in VersaMark and white heat embossed. I adhered the hill and moon and popped the fox and tree with foam dimensional adhesives. I finished the card off by adhering the entire panel onto a kraft card base and randomly adhering those tiny silver stars on the top portion of my inky background to complete the scene. “Thank You So Much Card”
Next card I have for you is this cute birdy “thank you” card. The Varsity Sequins Mix from SpiegelMom Scraps was the inspiration behind this card. I love the blues, yellows and silver. Although, I didn’t use the blue and yellow sequins for this card, I did use the silver confetti sequins which SpiegelMom Scraps sell separately as Mirror Mirror on the Wall Sequins. To start, I masked and inked the background with mint, red and yellow inks with a foam applicator. That background panel was set aside to dry.
Last week I had so much fun using the Shimmerz Paints Dazzlerz Lemon Drop paste on my “Hello Sunshine” card and so, this week, I decided that I wanted to play with paste again. For this card, I used the Gummy Berry Blue paste and I think it’s the perfect color to replace the blue sequins from the Varsity Sequins Mix. Every time I make a thank you card, I always have to include some kind of hearts. That’s just me. I always want the card to appear like its saying “thank you from the bottom of my heart.” 🙂 I took out the Simon Says Stamp Tiny Spaced Hearts stencil and placed it over a mini glassine bag. I spread the paste evenly and set this bag aside to dry.
I stamped the two birdies, colored them with Copic Markers and carefully fussy cut them out. The images are from Lawn Fawn Chit Chat stamp set. I die-cut a white tag from Simon Says Stamp Large Tags Craft Die and printed a sentiment through my inkjet laser printer. I used SpiegelMom Scraps Navy Burlap Strings to tie the tag. Once everything was dried, I assembled everything to its place and finished the card off by scattering some silver confetti sequins from SpiegelMom Scraps Varsity Sequin Mix and added a Studio Calico Speech Bubble Wood Veneer on top of the bag.
I had so much fun playing with these fun embellishments from SpiegelMom Scraps! These are just a few ideas to use SpiegelMom Scraps embellishments on your cards, but there are so much more you can do with them! I hope these cards inspired you to get busy in your craft room!
