Sequin confetti, of course! Hi, Laura here today with a bunch of ATC’s. I am taking part in a swap you see… 52 cards themed ‘Love, Kindness and Hope’ and in return, I get 52 cards from all over the world made by different artists.
I start with a master board – a big piece of watercolour paper that will eventually be cut down to size. I made three sheets with different colours using mainly Shimmerz sprays in different finishes. I added some stencilling with Dazzlerz paste for some texture.
Next, I moved on to the fun bit – filling up 52 little glassine bags with sequin confetti. I won’t list all of the sequin mixes I used as there are far too many! You can find them all here!
I printed out the phrase “throw kindness around like confetti” and trimmed them down to small slips of paper. I have all my elements ready now so I set up my sewing machine. I picked a background, a glassine bag of confetti and a sentiment slip and ran them through my sewing machine on a straight stitch.
It was good fun whizzing them all through not having to worry about straight lines!
They’ve now been parcelled up and posted and the tricky bit begins… I have to wait for them to be swapped and posted back! I’m not very good at waiting!!
Thanks for stopping by,
Hello everyone! This is my first blog post for the SpiegalMom DT and I am super excited! The layout I am bringing you today is a traditional layout about family and we all know how that goes! Lol. Anyway this is a photo of my daughter and her husband who are in the faded background and their two children in the front. Taken in beautiful Monterey California, you just can’t go wrong with a photo shoot at the beach.
I just love the colors in this layout and those sequins are right on the spot! I used the Spiegelmom scraps Wedding Bells sequins and glued them where they dropped.
I used Tombo Mono Multi glue because when it dries, it dries into a matt finish. I also used some ink in Glass Slipper from SC with a stencil of hearts, which gave it a tone on tone look.
My favorite part about this layout is the hidden journaling, which I used a large Glassine bag to hold a 4X6 journaling card and glued it to the back of the photo, added a tab, and labeled it NOTE, so that you can retrieve the journaling card. I have done this technique before when I had a layout that was too busy for journaling or when I just want to hide the words. It’s another way of keeping your journaling private.
Thank you so much for stopping by and make sure that you check out the Spiegelmom shop for more goodies and I will be back next week for another 12×12 layout. Oh! Be sure to use my coupon code Felicia15 to receive a 15% discount on your purchases! Have an awesome day!
Ka here to wish you a Happy Hump Day and share some mini Hello cards with you. It’s always nice to have some Hello cards on hand for a quick note to wish your friends a happy day or simply just to say Hello! I love these smaller size cards because I find it incredibly useful to just stamp a tiny encouraging sentiment or write a small note or add an inspiring quote to brighten someone’s day. I love to make and have a stash of these on hand for those last minute occasion!
For all the cards, I inked up the flower stamp from the Neat and Tangled Hand Stitched stamp set with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. After that I colored in the images with Copic Markers and added a coat of shimmer with the Wink of Stella Glitter Brush Marker Pen. Once I finished coloring in the images, I cut them out and assembled everything together on the card bases with some yellow thread and sequins. The sentiments are from the Altenew Label Love stamp set.
For the bags, I folded some White Lace Paper Doilies over some glassine bags and tied some yellow bakers twine over it. I added Pink and White Felt-Fetti Heart Die Cuts as a last finishing touch.
I hope you’ve enjoyed this daily dose of inspiration and hopefully you will create some mini cards to have on hand for those last minute occasion. Don’t forget to head over to the SpiegelMom Scraps Shop to pick up some of these supplies to make your own mini cards too!
Until next time,
