Hi everyone! Hope you’re having a wonderful day! Today my card is showcasing gold sequins and silver confetti from SpiegelMom Scraps.
This design came to me when I was planning some wall arts at home. I was aspiring my ideal gallery wall and turned them into a card. My main colors are black, white and gold. I also incorporated some marble patterns to enhance the fashionista feel. I ended up LOVING this crisp and clean design.
First, I added some gold color and splatters onto the white background using Heidi Swapp Color Shine in Gold.
Then, I created the mini arts one by one. I used my Spellbinders nesting oval dies to create an oval frame for the Eiffel Tower art (print out). I then stamped the sentiment onto my marble piece (also print out). The stamp set I used was The Shoe Wardrobe from The Ton.
I cut out 2 rectangular frames using my craft knife. The small one was adhered onto a black background, then embellished with a white enamel dot. For the large one, I made it into a mini shaker using SpiegelMom Scrap’s Gold Rush Sequins and Mirror Mirror on the Wall Sequins. The images in the frame were stamped using the same stamp set in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and Delicata Gold ink. I absolutely love the mini shaker art!
Hey there! Jody here today with a quick layout to share. I started with the lovely Crate Paper Craft Market papers and layered with vellum, a cute mini paper bag and a couple other goodies. This layout came together quickly with only a few embellishments added on top 🙂 The photo is of our daughter, Sari, in her favorite bonnet from Old World Wisconsin. We’ve gone there twice over the summer and want to go back before the weather gets cold again. We LOVE that place! I took the photo at our land in September… by the way, the building process for our new home is underway! We now have a driveway and will break ground within the next couple weeks!!! So excited!!
Ok, focus Jody LOL…. I added a Heidi Swapp Minc card “Be You Tiful” and framed it with a piece of Cocoa Vanilla ephemera frame. I also used up some Allison Kreft chipboard buttons & Pink Paislee white rubber arrows from the Artisan Collection.
I think my favorite part of this layout is how fast is came together, about 20 minutes!! It really does pay to scrapbook in short amounts of time. It forces to me to not putz around with things so much and just get my memories documented. Here are a few more close-ups!
Thanks so much for stopping by today!! Here are few goodies from my Etsy Shop in this layout:
Pink Baker’s Twine
Have a creative day!
Hello there! It’s Ka from Stamping Smiles Designs and SpiegelMom Scraps September guest designer! I hope you all had a long and fun Labor Day weekend! Today, I have two cards featuring goodies from SpiegelMom Scraps Etsy shop and some cute critters from a couple of my favorite stamp companies.
“Miss You” Card
First card up today is this cute fox from Avery Elle More Stories stamp set! I used SpiegelMom Scraps Silver Stardust Confetti to create a starry backdrop on my night scene. I just love how perfect they are – the size and how they look! 🙂 To start the card, I die-cut a stitched rectangle from Lawn Fawn Large Stitched Rectangle Stackables die and masked off the stitched edges with post-it notes. I then blended Chipped Sapphire distress ink all over. I set that aside to dry while I worked on my stamped images.
I stamped the images with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored them with Copic Markers. The tree is actually a branch from Sweet ‘N Sassy Stamps Love Birds set, but I thought it was the perfect size to use it as a tree for this card. I used a coordinating die to cut the tree out and carefully fussy cut the fox and moon. I also die-cut a green hill using Lawn Fawn Stitched Hillside Borders die.
Once the sponged background was dried, I stamped the sentiment from the same set as the fox in VersaMark and white heat embossed. I adhered the hill and moon and popped the fox and tree with foam dimensional adhesives. I finished the card off by adhering the entire panel onto a kraft card base and randomly adhering those tiny silver stars on the top portion of my inky background to complete the scene. “Thank You So Much Card”
Next card I have for you is this cute birdy “thank you” card. The Varsity Sequins Mix from SpiegelMom Scraps was the inspiration behind this card. I love the blues, yellows and silver. Although, I didn’t use the blue and yellow sequins for this card, I did use the silver confetti sequins which SpiegelMom Scraps sell separately as Mirror Mirror on the Wall Sequins. To start, I masked and inked the background with mint, red and yellow inks with a foam applicator. That background panel was set aside to dry.
Last week I had so much fun using the Shimmerz Paints Dazzlerz Lemon Drop paste on my “Hello Sunshine” card and so, this week, I decided that I wanted to play with paste again. For this card, I used the Gummy Berry Blue paste and I think it’s the perfect color to replace the blue sequins from the Varsity Sequins Mix. Every time I make a thank you card, I always have to include some kind of hearts. That’s just me. I always want the card to appear like its saying “thank you from the bottom of my heart.” 🙂 I took out the Simon Says Stamp Tiny Spaced Hearts stencil and placed it over a mini glassine bag. I spread the paste evenly and set this bag aside to dry.
I stamped the two birdies, colored them with Copic Markers and carefully fussy cut them out. The images are from Lawn Fawn Chit Chat stamp set. I die-cut a white tag from Simon Says Stamp Large Tags Craft Die and printed a sentiment through my inkjet laser printer. I used SpiegelMom Scraps Navy Burlap Strings to tie the tag. Once everything was dried, I assembled everything to its place and finished the card off by scattering some silver confetti sequins from SpiegelMom Scraps Varsity Sequin Mix and added a Studio Calico Speech Bubble Wood Veneer on top of the bag.
I had so much fun playing with these fun embellishments from SpiegelMom Scraps! These are just a few ideas to use SpiegelMom Scraps embellishments on your cards, but there are so much more you can do with them! I hope these cards inspired you to get busy in your craft room! If you want to see the full supplies list for these two cards, you can visit my blog post here. Thank you so much for stopping by! Enjoy the rest of your week!

Hi, there, scrappy friends….I hope everyone had a fun weekend. Are you ready to start scrappin’….I bet some of you already have. Here is what I have been up to. I decided to create another pocket page for one for one of my scrapbooks. As always, it was fun playing with my embellishments from SpiegelMom Scraps Ok, let’s get started. Here is the completed layout; then, I will get into the details.
It is always fun scrapping pics of my kids when they were younger. I definitely have plenty of those pics to scrap yet. This is great for Jody’s 15 minutes a day plan 🙂 Speaking of a plan, here is the first detail I wanted to include. It was fun watching my children together as they shared my daughter’s 7th birthday.
Oh, and I just love the heart with all of those lovely sentiments. I really like the way it fits in the pocket so nicely.
Well, you know how much I adore the sequins from SpiegelMom Scraps….I had to use them on this layout, too. Before I show you the detail shot, I would like to share how sequins have become a part of our home. My hubby found some on the floor in our kitchen and and asked me if I needed these. I told my hubby that I definitly did….I think he gets the picture….really, what kitchen floor doesn’t need a bit of sparkle, right?
Here are the supplies I used.
Paper-Heidi Swapp and Becky Higgins Project Life, Doodle Bug and Amy Tangerine
Sequins-Blue Lagoon Mix
Wood Veneer Stars
Forever Love Hearts
I really had good time creating this layout. I sure hope that you have some time for creating yourselves this week. Oh, I would love to hear!! I will be back next week with one more project as SpiegelMom Scraps GD for June. It’s been great!!

Happy Memorial Day Weekend everyone! Today I’m bringing back a little tutorial that I did a few years ago and still LOVE it! Below I have several step by step pictures on how I create some of my sequin shaker pockets. It’s super easy and fun! These little shaker pockets add a very fun element to you scrapbook pages, mini albums, Project Life and cards. Here’s what I started with. Pictured: Aleene’s Tackey Glue, mini glassine bag, Gold Garland Confetti Sequins and Fairytale Sequins.
In the photo gallery below, you can click on each photo to enlarge it. When you do, you’ll see that I turned my mini glassine bag upside down and cut the back open with one cut down the middle and two small cuts going towards the edges (by not all the way). Then, I randomly spread some Aleene’s Tacky glue along the inside and sprinkled one of my favorite sequins mixes, Fairytale!! Then, I put some glue along the top of the glassine on the inside so no sequins could sneak out then closed the back of the bag and taped it shut. Easy peasy!!
After creating this sequin shaker pocket I created this layout! I used the fabulous Heidi Swapp line, Hello Today. I have the full 12×12″ paper pad and love every single sheet! I used the yellow paper with dots as my background, then trimmed down the star paper to 11×11″. Since I already created a few things with this line, I had several decent sized pieces of patterned papers already cut so I used those to begin layering.
I added some fun pink doilies from Michael’s Arts and Crafts store, Maggie Holmes gold glitter Thickers, some stickers from Allison Kreft & Amy Tangerine and a few other little odds and ends 🙂 And here are two sizes of the glassine bags I have in my shop! These are by far the most popular for making my sequin shaker pockets, little treat bags, embellishment holders and more! Last Christmas I even made an Advent Calendar!
Thank you for spending your time with me today! I hope you’ll be creating some sequin shaker pockets of your own! Here are a few links to help get you started today! You can check out a fun YouTube video from my channel which shows you how I’ve created them in the past with confetti.
Be sure to check back on Monday for some fabulous news right here!!!!
Do something creative today!
Happy Monday all! Yes, I said happy Monday. It’s raining and I’m off work today to that = crafty time! Last weekend I was very blessed to spend a couple days with my best friend Jenn without any kids!! I missed them dearly of course, but it was incredibly refreshing to just hang with her and scrapbook! I created 10 layouts! Here’s the first one I’m sharing from our special girls weekend.
My challenge with this beautiful Maggie Holmes DIY paper was to create a layout without covering up too much of the words. I love the message in this paper and I definitely can relate to it with my crazy busy life! To create with this particular busy background paper, I decided to use one 4×4 photo from my Instagram feed and add some simple layering and minimal embellishments.
Here are a few close ups of the embellishments! Chic Tags wood veneer, SpiegelMom Scraps Die Cut Cork Chevrons and my SpiegelMom Scraps Daydream Sequins.
If you remember a while ago, I was also doing a comparison between adhering sequins with Aileen’s Tacky Glue and Scrapbook Adhesive DOTZ. As much I like the tacky glue for adhering ribbon and wood veneers, the glue dots by Scrapbook Adhesives is my winner for attaching sequins, hands down! The sequins adhered with tacky glue could be popped off when the paper was bent, such as when a page is being turned in your scrapbook album. It’s your lucky week because all the adhesives in my shop are 20% off with a special coupon code!! Just use STICKIT20 to get your 20% off at check out!!
Thank you for spending your time with me today! I hope you enjoyed my layout and some inspiration on his rainy day from WI! Here are the supplies from my Etsy Shop:

Do Something Creative Today!
I cannot tell you how awesome it is to be creating recently! I’ve continued to be super busy stocking and packing new goodies for my Etsy Shop and designing some more fun stuff coming in May. I’m also continuing to burn through my scraps of left over kits and other purchases I made before Two Peas in a Bucket closed their cyber doors.. so sad!
And so now I digress to tonight’s layout! I used a hodgepodge of papers here from Echo Park, Dear Lizzy and another I’m not sure of anymore!! When I mix up a few different papers, sometimes I find it easier to scrap with a black and white photo. This doesn’t get much easier that a simple filter in Instagram! I have to say I have the best little models 🙂 Here’s a picture I snapped with my iPhone of Abby ‘reading’ us a bedtime story a couple weeks ago.
I’m always excited to create on a white card stock background too! A clean slate. This allows me to really stretch those scraps of patterned paper to the max! Take a closer look at the white card stock….
Yes, you see it now don’t you 🙂 I used a fun Kesi Art stencil with some Gesso and Distress Ink mixed together. I love how this turned out, just a hint of texture in the background without being overwhelming! Here are a couple more pics.
Another thing I really love to work into my layouts is some contrast. It doesn’t have to be black on white or anything that drastic.. but just some nice contrast. That’s where my love of cork and wood veneer comes into play. I’ve created a few new cork embellishments (some of which are self adhesive) like these fun clouds which will be in my shop this weekend!
Here are a couple more close ups for ya’ll. That adorable little wood veneer bicycle is from Chic Tags and those cute cork chevrons are in my shop as well.
And I cannot forget the BEAUTIFUL Shimelle wood veneer above from American Crafts!
Thanks so much for spending your time with me today. Now it’s time to decorate your Planners and set your alarms for May 2 & 3, 2015 for……
See ya very soon!

Here is one of the first cards I created with my Clique Cards Kit!! I just love this kit and how many embellishment options I have when creating!! This was a very fast and easy card to create. To start out, I cut a piece of the green Bazzil cardstock in half the long way and folded it to create my 5.5″ by 4.25″ card base. Next I just trimmed this super cute tree paper down to 5.25 by 4″ and adhered it to the front of my card with my favorite foam adhesive from 3L Scrapbook Adhesives, found here. Then, I sprinkled a few fun sequins from the Clique Card kit into my mini glassine bag and sealed with a small strip of 3L Scrapbook Adhesives taper runner before I wrapped the mini bag with some fabulous Twinery Shimmer twine. Then I just adhered it to the front of my card. I chose this fun holiday tag from the assortment of Fancy Pants Designs tags from their super cute Oh Deer collection and let the string fall randomly. To add some sparkle, I used a glue dot to adhere the 15mm snowflake sequin right on top of the Fancy Pants tag. For a finishing touch of gold I added a Pink Fresh Studio gold puffy sticker along the bottom and TA-DA!! Done!
Don’t you just LOVE those Pink Fresh Studio Gold puffy stickers and the gold in the twine! Products used that are not included in your Clique Cards Kit:
