Scrappy Friday – Jen Schow

Hi there!

Here I am, scraplifting Jen Schow this week!

This is the page I’ve chosen:

What I particularly liked about her page is the horizontal clustering in the middle on the page combined with the repetition of the same word on a vertical line.

Here is my page:

And here are some details:

I used the Gritty  Graphite Texture Paste by Shimmerz Paints…

Some Green Acres sequins ….

….Some felt and cork clouds

…And various stamps all over my page.

I really enjoyed this scraplift!

See you soon for another Scrappy Friday!

Scrappy Friday – Shimelle Scraplift

Hello Creatives!

This Scrappy Friday is about scraplifting a scrapper, who, once again is amonst my favorites : Shimelle.

Here is the page I’ve chosen:

What I particularly liked about it was the large photo and the different embellishments from top to bottom.

I first tried to use the same kind of paper for my background, and of course decided to scrap a large photo as well.

Then, I splattered different kinds of embellishments from top to bottom, amongst them the cork stars and felt clouds from Spiegelmom Scraps shop.

Here are some sneaks:

What about you? Have you ever scrapped a large picture? Do you like to do so?

See you next week for another Scrappy Friday!

Scrappy Friday – Kat Benjamin Scraplift

Hello ladies,

As you probably know by now, this week, we’re scraplifting another talented scrapper :

Kat Benjamin.

The choice was hard amongst all her colourful pages, but this is the one I decided to scraplift:

I love using orange in my creations, and I felt it perfectly suited my summer state of mind. This page is so warm and full of energy!

Here is my page :

I decided to use the same color as Kat’s background (and using the Shimmerz Paints is SO easy!!!!) and I worked on a vertical line along the right side of my page.

Just like her, I splattered my page with various tags and embellishments…

I then chose the Fall of the Earth sequins, which perfectly match my page background and make it sparkle!

Then, I used various stamps. Again, the orange background make them stand out magnificently!

Thanks for reading me, I won’t be with you next Friday since I’ll be on holidays, but I’ll join you again for another Scrappy Friday on the18th!

Scrappy Friday – Missy Whidden Scraplift

Hello Creatives!

Here I am with the 4th Scrappy friday of the month. I usually only do 3, but because the challenges were so fun, and the fact that I am on holidays, here I am for a fourth one!!!

But, to be perfectly honest, the truth is…. How could I miss the opportunity to scraplift a scrapper I totally admire?

As you probably know, the challenge is to scraplift Missy Whidden this week!

Here is the page I’ve chosen :

What I particularly liked in this page is the background, made of different paper strips, the different layers, the frames, the embellishments and the different words and phrases. Well, I confess…I like every single bits of that page LOL!

What I knew from the beginning to be impossible for me was to add some stitching to the page, as you probably know by now, I’m totally hopeless at it!

However, I’ve come up with a page which is quite different from the original, but which includes the elements I’ve listed above:

Instead of using strips of paper, I used some washi tape strips. and I framed my pic’. I also tried to add some volume and layers, as well as some embellishments (paper clips, perspextives, flairs and Spiegelmom Scraps felt and cork stars and clouds)

I then added some words and phrases, using either stickers or stamps.

It was such a pleasure to scraplift such a talented scrapper! Have YOU tried to play along with us this week?

See you next Friday for another Scrappy Friday!

Scrappy Friday – A card

Hello Creatives!

Amongst all the challenges this month, this one is, by far, the most difficult for me. Even though I totally enjoy and admire sewing and stitching on other scrappers’ pages, I personally don’t have a clue on how to do it on my creations.

To be perfectly honest with you, I’ve spent a whole afternoon trying and starting again, before realising what is obvious : I certainly do NOT have the talent to do it.

However, I still wanted to take part in the challenge, so I decided to work on a smaller scale. That’s why I’ve made a card!

I just used some inks ans stamps to create the background and I stitched along the lines of one of my favorite stamps. That was it! I did it! LOL!

I then used a cork star to decorate the happy birthday tag.

See you next week for another Scrappy Friday!

Scrappy Friday – Happy Birthday America

Hello Creatives!

Here I am with July second week challenge : Scrap a birthday you normally wouldn”t…

I immediately took the opportunity to celebrate the American National Day…. And here is my page. I find it quite ironic that I’m publishing it on July, 14th, which is France National Day. As if to highlight the link between our two countries!

Why did I decide to pay a tribute to America?

First because this is a country I’ve already visited, and which I will visit again (next trip is scheduled for April, 2018, I’m sooooo looking forward to it!!!)

Then, because I’m an English teacher and I’m in love with the American language even though its accent is quite hard to get used to at first.

Then, America is the first country to have trusted me as far as scrapbooking is concerned and enabled me to be part of Creative Teams. Thus, I am now so happy to have virtually met talented and nice American scrappers.

To make my page, I decided use the Honor Guard sequins, because of their color, obviously.. I also used blue and red texture paste which I spread on numbers and stars.

Then I decorated a Birthday card with the sequins and added some felt hearts and cork stars. I also added a flair, again, using it as its colors perfectly matched my theme.

Then I used various stamps to fill the empty spaces.

Hope you had a wonderful 4th of July, see you next week for a brand new Scrappy Friday!

Love from France,

Christine

Scrappy Friday – Sardine

Hello there!

Here I am with the first challenge of July : At SpeigleMom Scraps, we’ve decided the first week of July theme will be Emoji love or scrapping about emotions.

I’ve decided to scrap about love, and was inspired by my (now famous) cat Sardine. She’s been giving our family so much love over the last 10 years that she totally deserves to be, once again, the inspiration for my page!!!!

To make my page, I decided to use the Meow Collection from My Mind’s Eyes and SpiegleMom Scraps  I love your Face Cut files.

As usual, I splattered my page with ink, stamps and sequins. This time I used the Fairy Garden collection.

What about you? Do you often scrap your pets?

Can’t wait to see what you’ll be creating for the Emoji theme.

Love from france.

Scrappy Friday – Le Grand Bleu

Hello,

Welcome here for a new Scrappy Friday!!!

Here is my page, looking back on the 80’s – 90’s for the last time….  I must confess that one film really symbolizes these years for me, I don’t really know if you American people have ever heard of it…. It’s “Le grand Bleu” (The Big Blue) and it was a huge success here in France, it really symbolizes our generation.

To decorate my page, I used the Hey Kiddo sequins, as well as the Cork Chevrons and some Shooting Cork Stars.

Here are some details :

See you next week for my next Scrappy Friday!

Love from France,

Christine

Scrappy Friday – Friends

Hello Creatives,

Here I am with a layout for my Scrappy Friday. This time, thinking back about the 80’s-90’s, I decided to get my inspiration from my favorite TV series at that time, the one I was so delighted to watch in English, as I was studying English at University in order to become a teacher….

What an amazing way to learn a foreign language and a foreign culture!

Just like in the series, we’re 6 friends and I must confess each time we meet, we feel like we’re as old as we were in the nineties….

I like the way the Spiegelmomscraps Corky Cumulus and Cloudy Days Felties give some lightness to my page…. And they totally sum up the atmosphere when the 6 of us meet!

And what about you, what was your favorite series at that time?

See you next week for my next Scrappy Friday!

Love from France,

Christine

Scrappy Friday – A Home Decor Giveaway

Hello everyone,

Let’s start June with a Home Decor!

As you probably know, our June theme is a flashback to the 80’s and 90’s…. Thinking back to the eighties from a French point of view is related to an optimistic decade when everything seemed possible and America seemed to be emerging as an example to follow or to be inspired from. America appeared to be the land where your dreams may come true….And I must confess the USA made me dream a lot as a child of the 80’s!

That immediately made me want to use some of my Joli Mess’s cards and project life cards from the Cassie’s capsule. Since I had some spare frames, I decided to use three of them, and to match these cards with the Spiegelmomscraps sequins.

In the first frame, I used a “C’est possible” (It is possible) card, and match it with the Salt of the Earth sequins. For the second frame, the card says ” Ne t’arrête jamais 2 rêver” (Never stop Dreaming). I decorated it with 2 cork stars and the lovely gold stardust sequins.

The third and last frame asks us to “Imagine”, and I matched it with the Just Bleachin’ it sequins as well as cork and felt clouds). This project is very simple and can add a decorating touch in your home in less than no time!

And the good news is…. These frames can be yours! Just leave one comment below before the next Scrappy Friday (June 9th) and I’ll pick a random winner amongst all the comments!

Fingers crossed!

Love from France!

Christine

Scrappy Friday – Just to say Hello

Hello there,

So happy to meet you again on Spiegelmoms Scraps blog!

I’m here today with a card, just like last week, which is a bit unusual for me since I don’t make much cards…..

But I thought this one perfectly fits the Build a Snowman sequins…. and the Maggie Holmes Chasing Dream papers perfectly fit the May Theme.

This time, I didn’t use inks or pastes, just matted different papers together. The sequins give the final sparkling touch. This is what I really love about sequins, they highlight any project you make, giving it the last touch it needs!

Even if I don’t make many cards, I do like making them because, again, it is part of the process of sharing. You create a project, but for someone else, in order to make a surprise. And I like surprising people. Who doesn’t like to receive a happy mail?

This one will fly to England, it is a modest present for my 400th follower on Instagram. This is also what I love about scrapbooking and social media. You can share with people from all over the world on a click! How fantastic! I can’t (and don’t want) to get used to it!

See you next month for a new Scrappy Friday, and this time…. no card!

Have a nice weekend!

Love from France,

Christine

Scrappy Friday – A Birthday Card

Hello Creatives!

Here I am with a new and totally different Scrappy Friday.

The project I’d like to share with you today is a birthday card I made for one of the Spiegelmomscraps DT member, Marie Friant.

To make it, I decided to use the Peach Fuzz Paste-eez Simmerz Paint. First, I took some of it and then added water. I spread it on a piece of plastic bag and then applied it on my paper. When everything was dry, I spread some of the paste on a stencil. That gives the two different shades on the card, the background being lighter because of the water.

I then stuck the Heidi Swapp acetate word TODAY right in its center, used a Heidi Swapp flower stamp  from the Magnolia Jane collection in its right hand corner.

I finally used some  Spiegelmomscraps Green Acres sequins to brighten it all up.

I then added a lovely tag which I stapled. Before sticking my piece of paper on a white plain card, I mated it on a doted paper.

Hope you like it! See you next Friday!

Love from France,

Christine

Scrappy Friday – A Home Decor

Hello There,

So happy to meet you there for my very first Scrappy Friday!

As you probably know, the May Theme at Spiegelmom Scraps is Flowers….

It made me immediately think about a Home Decor box I had bought just a few days ago, containing 3 wooden flowers to decorate and hang upon a wall.

Here is it :

Here is a process slideshow:

For this project, I used the following Spiegelmom Scraps products:

Doilies, Gone with the Wind Sequins to match my papers ( a mixture of Maggie Holmes Chasing Dreams and Dear Lizzy Lovely Day Collections), heart-shaped  and star-shaped cork confettis.

Here are some Sneak Peeks :

Can’t wait to share my next Scrappy Friday with you!
