Make It Yours Monday~Summer Girls
Happy Monday everyone. I hope you had a great weekend. I am here to share my 90’s influenced layout. My take on this theme is to find songs from the era and try to make them work as my titles!!! I made the LFO Song “Summer Girls” my song title and decided to give it my own spin!
I began by using a piece of woodgrain paper and mounted a piece of trimmed down kraft cardstock. I tore some vellum and layered it under the sand and shell pattern paper. I sprinkled various colors from the Just Beachin’ It mix throughout the sand to create some sparkley beach sand. Adding more torn vellum to create the foamy break between sea and sand, I layered the wavy sea paper on top and then used some great sequin mixes to make the sea shine in the sunshine! Light blue sequins from the Hey Kiddo mix, Teal from the Aqua Marine Dream and the dark blue’s from Be True 2 U made the sea sparkle.
Next, for the sky portion, layered a few torn strips of cloud paper to create a fluffy sky look. I used some Morning Dew Drops sequins to make some of the clouds stand out. A few corky chevron arrows help draw attention to the photo. To bring some sunshine to the page, I used a free cut file from the shop and the negative piece from the cut made a great sun stencil!!! Lemon Drop Dazzlerz is the perfect sunny yellow, so I used it through my homemade stencil in the top left corner. To make the sun really shine, I added some Summer Paradise sequins while the texture paste was still wet.
The sweet photo was mounted on some pink glitter paper and then backed with the same woodgrain from the layout mat. I added the title to the lower right corner under the photo in a navy blue color, keeping with the blue’s! The title was my nod to the 90’s, from a great summer song from my teen’s!
Sunshiny happiness is my challenge to you this week, and for bonus points, Stick with the 90’s theme!!! Pick up all the great products I used here today and….
